Edwards only has himself to blame, it's not like he was injured, he just kept purposely passing on fights

When the Woodley fight fell through due to COVID he should have looked to stay active - they offered him Wonderboy, who was ranked one spot below him, and he passed that up too

With that said though UFC needs to chill with this Chimaev hype, I feel like all this hype he keeps getting is setting him up to crash and burn

They never offered him Wonderboy, Wonderboy came to Edwards when the UFC tried to push Chimaev on him but the UFC never tried to make Wonderboy vs Edwards.

Nonsense. He’s on an 8 fight win streak. It’s insulting someone like Gilbert Burns leap frogged him and they offer Edwards Thompson or rat lip when he’s ranked #3. UFC is so full of shyt and plays favorites. Fellow UK cac till got a title shot off beating cans, an unmotivated Cowboy, and barely scrapping by Wonderboy. Not to mention guys like Connor and Cruz sat on the shelf for years and never publicly lost their rankings. Edwards should ask to be released like Anderson so he can go elsewhere

Burns' win over Woodley was better than any of Edwards wins, so why wouldn't he be ranked above him? And Gilbert's also fought four times since Leon's last fight

Leon was angling to try and fight someone ranked above him the entire time, he got too overly concerned with the numbers beside the names

UFC did what anyone else would do, if a guy's continually saying "no" to everything you offer (without having any type of injury) you have no choice but to remove him from the rankings - they did the same thing with Nate Diaz and others in the past as well.
