Dana is just a highly paid employee
When Dana was trying to do the show on the Indian reservation land he tried to go over the governor. Dude called Disney and he had to bow down to that.

They’re willing to pay Jorge because they they don’t have a choice, Abu Dhabi is paying them some ridiculously crazy amount for these events, prob making up for the fact there’s no crowd. Plus Holloway dropped out? It was a wrap

That Gavin Newsome (governor) went to Dana bosses at Disney ( Not ESPN who were encouring this) to tell them to cut this shyt out. That doesn't show how much pull Dana has, this just shows that Dana still gotta answer to someone higher up, man's tried to go around commission and state officials and still had to bow down at the end. Just like the whole Conor getting the Floyd fight. Dana tried to shut the whole thing down then IMG ran the numbers and allowed it to go through since it would make them money.

I don’t understand what this has to do with anything. UFC obviously could have made paid Jorge his asking price and made this fight originally. But they wanted to hardball and now the prospect of Max/Volk 2 headlining made them cough up the money. Just doesn’t make any sense

Not saying you specifically, but the public still think Dana makes the final decisions and take his word as gospel.

You just got to put UFC in a bind. They'll pay.
Masvidal has a short camp to prepare for an elite level fighter, Usman should be able to grind out a victory. Masvidal is a scrapper so you can't rule out him being able to land some crazy s#it, but I don't buy his hype. His last three wins are against a washed up Askren that got lucky against Robbie Lawler, Darren Till who's no longer in the division because of the weight cut, and Nate Diaz who was having his second fight in three years.
