anybody know anything about this undercard lightweight tournament at UFC Japan 1997? the event's wiki page was edited recently and there's even a fb page dedicated to this tourney, yet I can't find a single thing on it besides that. no videos, no record, no articles.
the thing that really has me questioning it is the fb posts, which have modern UFC logos/computer graphics claiming that they were used as promo material in 1997.
Maturi has a loss at UFC 7 and is listed as a HW, Carino has a win at UFC 13 and he's listed as HW as well, Hosseini (also listed as heavyweight) has a UFC 13 loss listed on multiple sites. Yet, I can't find anything proving Conor Quinn's existence except the facebook/imdb photos.
the article that's at the bottom of the wiki page says that UFC 16 (the event after this one) had the first UFC lightweight tournament, which doesn't helps its case.
tldr: there could be a UFC tournament winner that never got his credit or (more likely) someone pulled a really weird, elaborate troll in the vein of Charlie Zelenoff

That is his bread and butter, why he chose to fall in love with his stand up is baffling. All but one of his wins leading up to the title fight with Weidman were submissions.

Some dude on Youtube made an interesting documentary about War Machine. Outside of his time on TUF and his stint in Bellator I didn’t know a lot about him. I had no idea he was so unhinged. It’s a miracle that he didn’t kill somebody before he finally got locked up for good.
