ESPN reports that Ali Abdelaziz (who manages Khabib Nurmagomedov through his Dominance MMA) and Abe Kawa (who manages Jon Jones through First Round Management) got into a brief altercation at the PFL Playoffs in Las Vegas on Friday night.
Kawa told ESPN that Abdelaziz approached him at the event at Mandalay Bay, said they needed to talk, and then slapped him across the right side of his face. Security quickly separated the two and the Las Vegas Police Department also got involved.
“LVMPD officers were on scene and temporarily detained one of the subjects during the investigation. That subject was cooperative. He was issued a citation and released. No enforcement action was taken regarding the second subject, who was also cooperative. There were no significant injuries,” a spokesperson for the Las Vegas Police Department said.
Anthony Pettis, another one of Kawa’s client, said Abdelaziz slapped Kawa “like a b—-” and “was gone in 15 seconds.”
PFL Vice President Jim Bramson said they will also investigate the incident.
“We were focused on the action in the cage,” Bramson told ESPN. “We’re going to look into [the situation] and see if we can find anything out about it.”
