Jones wrestling is overrated and has been for years. He took Gus down and dominated but Gus had an injury. He's arrogant as fukk too. I think he would try to stand with Israel to prove a point but unlike Santos, he's not even remotely comparable to Israel. Jones comes into his fights weighing in the 220’s. I doubt Izzy cuts much weight to make MW and it looks like he hovers at or slightly above 185 out of competition. That’s a massive size difference.

Anthony Smith lasted all 5 rounds, Thiago Santos lasted all 5 rounds with no knees and arguably won. These are two guys who could never crack the top 10 at MW, not saying Izzy would win but I don't get this sentiment that he would get taken down and clobbered in a few minutes.

I don't get you guys shytting on Jon for beating up former middleweights when Izzy's 2 best wins... are 2 bloated former welterweights lol.

This was a good write-up on how his wrestling has regressed prior to the Santos fight, alot of folks aren't actually watching the fights, posting old ass gifs of dude when he still had sponsors on his shorts

He’s never been a true shoot wrestlers. Mainly been trips and body locks/drags in the clinch. I’m talking his control and BJJ. That smith fight was very eye opening. Outside that fourth he really couldn’t do anything wrestling and the few TD he did try he couldn’t get. And Anthony Smith has terrible defensive grappling. I don’t think he attempted a single TD against anywhere against Santos. If he stands with Israel he will get washed

This is exactly how I feel. Folks are underestimating Izzy. He could def pull off the upset whether decision via stikes or tko. People saying he doesnt hit hard, dude has deadly precision and accuracy, and has enough power to hurt anyone over time. The long fight actually goes in his favor and against Jones. Jon could just take him down and dominate, but hed have to get him down early, else Izzy picks him apart while getting him frustrated, gassed and running into strikes as it continues to go on. Folks already know Jones wrestling aint what it used to be and while hes a good striker, hes not on Izzys level on the feet. Hes gonna have to outsmart dude and close the distance.
