Chael is gonna end up having fought Jones, Anderson Silva and Fedor.

Dude is low key padding his resume with these late wins. He can technically brag on wins over Rua, Rampage, Bisping and Babalu. If he managed a win over Fedor that'd be a nice collection of mostly past their prime scalps.

Nelson is out of the Magny fight which made me look over that card. It's actually not bad and I like the Sunday daytime cards when it's not football season. Hopefully a decent back-up shows up for Magny, they shoulda tried to swing him into that Kamaru fight instead of sacrificing my boy Maia.

I'm not a fan of many habits about the UFC but the way they handle big name prospects is something I like. Adesanya vs Tavares and Zabit vs Yair is throwing those two increasingly dangerous competition even when they weren't completely dominant last outting. Add how outside champs like Eddie, Brooks, Branch and Gaethje were thrown right in with the wolves and it's a sink or swim mentality.

Meanwhile Tenshin Nasukawa has had 3 of 4 opponents with 0 pro wins and none of them had winning records and Adesanya beating Tavares would give him a debatable as to whether his resume is already more impressive than MVP's. These dudes are exciting prospects with great highlight reels but they won't gain traction until they beat people of value.

Edit: I realize Nasukawa is still splitting Kickboxing and MMA but at least opponents who are 1-0 should be doable, I mean come on.

I don't think using Yair vs Zabit works in this situation, Zabit can do all the shyt Yair can do with fundamentals behind them and he is a much better wrestler, I honestly think he destroys Yair. I think using Yair as an example works better when comparing how the UFC fed him to Edgar after beating bum ass Caceres and BJ Penn's corpse.

Wait, your saying Yair is too dangerous for Zabit? Zabit can do all the shyt Yair can do with fundamentals behind them and can wrestle better, I think he smashes Yair. Nah that's not what I mean. I'm not saying Adesanya or Zabit aren't ready for these opponents, just that if you compare their last opponent to the upcoming guys...these are legitimate steps up in competition. Vettori to Tavares and Bochniak to Yair are both real moves up the ladder as opposed to being completely shielded from threats like a lot of up and comers outside of the UFC get. I think Zabit can beat Yair but might lean toward Tavares' experience after the last Adesanya fight; that's not really my focus though. I'm just pointing to the fact that they're getting pushed fast. I'll predict O'malley gets a real test when he heals up too.
