He doesn’t have to be elite in anything, it’s a old flabby division. Jacare, Yoel, Weidman, Luke. All out of their primes with suspect chins and suspect cardio. That’s half your division right there.

And why would Whittaker not stand with Kelvin? He’s gonna grapple with a former state champion wrestler?

Yes because Whittaker is naturally bigger than him would use the Weidman approach

Weidmans one of the best wrestlers in the UFC period though. He was even giving Luke and Mousasi problems before gassing.

Cant see Whittaker trying to duplicate that. But interesting thought

Whittaker is cool but he isn't elite in anything I think he's beatable but he has heart and no real weakness right now... I prefer Rockhold in that match up. I would even take Kelvin but Whittaker won't stand too long against him.

He’s knocking Rockhold out if Luke is still lackadaisical like he was against Branch. Whittaker is beast right now. Romero couldn’t barely get him down and he’s Olympic level. None of those dudes have his speed, power, or boxing. I don’t think any of those old dudes can take him. Not even Kelvin who’s solid himself but way too hittable. I want to see that roided out Vitor clone against Whittaker

I think Rockhold can take a punch he does get emotional and can fight irrationally tho... but I don't see him fighting irrational against Robert. Robert doesn't trash talk. Kelvin has better boxing though and I believe he would get better of the exchanges.

Already the best striker in the MW division, if his defensive/counter wrestling and grappling is up to par he's gonna be taking heads off.

Thats a big "IF" and middleweight is home to some of the best grapplers in the entire sport

FINALLY

He's the anti MVP :blessed:

Heard bellator got rid of jimmy Smith too. Not against it tbh, his banter got awkward during fights and he hasn't really offered any real insights during fights. He had zero chemistry with Mauro and Goldberg

He's miles ahead of Saki, but he should be matched up in a similar fashion, give him some guys who are inclined to stand to start off with and let him stunt on them. If a dude like Eryk Anders can start off 2-0 in MW and get a headliner spot in his 3rd appearance, Izzy should be able to do the same with more flair.
