Apparently their reasoning to him was that they are saving him for the big shows. But he totally could've fought on the Henderson vs Patricky Pitbull card. Same with Lima. They announced more shows than ever this year, but most of those shows were sold shows to casinos and overseas tv buyers. I think they anticipated more growth after signing their first four or five free agents, but the company hasn't grown at all - partly because MMA doesn't have a lot of stars right now, but also because they've done a bad job promoting and booking their fighters.

No he wasn't, after Daley he basically said he would take no more fights accept Lima (who at the time was booked to face larkin)..I think at this point of his life (given his nose) he'd rather take quality fights than quantity.

MacDonald: ‘I’ve expressed my disappointment with Bellator’

MacDonald says he expected to fight several times per year, and he only just recently made his debut. And now he has to wait until January for his next bout, a title fight against welterweight champion Douglas Lima.

“I’ve expressed my disappointment with Bellator,” MacDonald told MMAjunkie.com. “I had some conversations with (Bellator president) Scott Coker expressing that. I’m not the type of fighter that needs to be sidelined and fight once a year. I need to be kept busy. I think he knows now. I think he wants to improve on that in 2018 and keep me more busy. I’m waiting. We’ll see. I hope that I’ll get at least three fights in during 2018.”
