I don't blame any fighter for taking the belt when the PPV points boost their salary by so much. Cormier made it pretty clear that he's accepting the belt because the money is exponentially better even though it's gonna be the same opponent regardless which I think is as honest as it can get. Dude is 38, he needs to make the money while he can get it.

Here is a guy that was breakdancing having won the belt without beating the only man to outclass him so how he rationalizes being handed a tainted title does not shock me in the slightest

"I'm going to make more money this way" isn't really a rationalization, it's just stating the facts. Cormier is gonna fight in a title fight Gus or Oezdemir regardless, the only difference is he'll make exponentially more money this way.

Dude ain't much of a draw so I think all that ppv points malark is overstated fact is Jones has left a foul smell over the division and it needs resetting. He's clearly the best guy in the division winning the title via a tourney involving those guys would do more help than harm to the division/sport .His greed is beside the point..

not really, I feel it's kind of like the chickens coming home to roost. If I had a nickel every time clowns would throw the casual label during debates. Yet we can see now who will talk whether there is news or not. And who only shows up for ppvs or breaking news stories
