WME is thinking money. What fight has that potential outside of Conor vs GSP? I'd rather Conor fight the winner of Khabib vs Ferguson because I want to see that fight, but I don't run the UFC.

Nothing is set just yet so this is all conjecture but for argument sake what have Alvarez/aldo/Mendes/Diaz ever drawn as headliners? yet paired with conor they did between 825k - million plus buys. That indicates to me conor is enough and the herd will follow. Putting him against gsp isn't going to draw 2million buys or anything, MMA has a ceiling.

Biggest card but then what? I mean is it at ww? Or lw? Did gsp not say he would be fighting at MW or does he only just want a fight against bisfluke? This screams short term gain long term consequences.

Ps I keep hearing ari emanuel and WME are these titans with the midas touch that might be true in entertainment (though I don't know their clients) but they don't seem to have a handle on sports. But for what? Connor loses and he doesn't get to run it back. You've just hurt your main draw who actually entertains when he fights. To pad the human blanket's legacy? I don't get it. There aren't enough Anderson coopers and Don lemons to get espn and all the other media platforms to rant and rave about how awesome it was to see gsp horizontal for 25 minutes. Sure as hell ain't enough of them to make him average a million buys every outing, just seems foolhardy but that's becoming the norm under WME

He would just bring in a fookin ju jitsu or wrestling expert for 200k or something like he supposedly did for cardio training before the Nate rematch. His fanbase is bulletproof. You struggle so damn hard with understanding how the mainstream fanbase works

You seem to struggle with common sense it's not just his fan base that's responsible for his ppv numbers. If gsp does what he does best and conor can't connect he's going to look like an amateur there is only so many of those he can have before espn and em start saying ok this dude has been exposed

You're right it's not just his fanbase it's also his haters. And they'll pay to see him lose again, just like people paid to see Nate beat him again. He's a character. Either way if GSP wrestlefukks him there's no way the rematch isn't made immediately
