Reading these prior posts makes me see why UFC is and will remain unchallenged as the premier MMA organization, until fighters form their own company and allow the government to truly run it as people will want to bet on it, medical services will be needed and taxes will need to be collected.
See, fighters say UFC does not treat them like humans, and it's true. Fighting, especially in MMA, takes a huge toll on the body and it takes time to recover. Unfortunately for fighters, we live in an Internet world where people want their fix fast. Fighters must fight each other fast and often--especially when they are bound by contract. And the UFC has delivered in this aspect and sue to the ever-growing number of fighters (gyms are being built all around and makers of the gear it takes to run an MMA gym have noticed and that means more money and more entities getting involved).
Boxing does not suffer from this, however, it has made many fans defect due to the number of divisions and belts and the politics of the sport.
