The UFC has not contacted by anyone yet from the MMAAA, Rebney said, and he added that he doesn't see a reason to do that yet. Rebney said he's been working on this for two years.
This is the part of the article that gave me cause for pause I don't think player associations in legitimate sports started out this way. You have been devising this for 2 years and your master plan is to wait at the phone and not make any overtures to the entity you are planning to negotiate with? For UFC to make the 1st move don't the MMAAA need leverage? UFC could do without all those names if they had to

He talked about it on the call. If his plan goes as expected the UFC will have to contact them or suffer losses

His plan is that all 500 fighters join the athletes association which will lead to a Labour strike, that's a pipe dream. UFC could easily seduce the top members like cerrone, Cain and dillishaw with better side deals and this movement is DOA. Most fighters aren't going to take that gamble by sitting out in hope WME-IMG cave anyway

He specifically said the goal is not to have a strike.

Well he does tend to speak like a lawyer so I interpret that to mean we'd obviously prefer to avoid a strike and get a call from their lawyers. For argument sake what else could a fighter do to see the UFC "suffer loses" if not pull out of fights?

They can cause a PR nightmare. If sponsors start backing out cause they don't want to look bad the phone will ring

Machida test results suggest he may have faced no suspension without admission

Why does any of this matter? Well, if it turns out that Lyoto would not have received a suspension based on his test results alone - and based on the evidence we have, that is a distinct possibility - it means he received an 18-month suspension for being honest. If he hadn’t admitted to using 7-keto-DHEA, there is a real chance he would have faced no punishment at all. Instead, he received a suspension that could well mean the end of his career. Over a substance the evidence says doesn’t even enhance athletic performance.

Sponsors know about the Reebok deal and the fighters have been vocal about it it hasn't scared any of them, MMA doesn't really have that space to cause reverberations like that the only thing that could is something anti-gay or semitic

Ps Donald cerrone even said on the call he doesn't even know what he's getting into but he's open to learning :why:

In work is this real and what happened :damn:

What originally happen with his eye?

The association has a long way to go... I do wonder how many fighters behind the scenes agree to this... I do think now is the right time because they do have new owners so might as well try to open up negotiations now before the owners get stuck in their ways... as far as fighters sabotaging their fights... that's gonna be a risky move because let's say about 90% of the fighters gotta eat.... I'm sure in their contract their are clauses against pulling out for any unnecessary issue... I also believe going on in the future UFC will probably try to instill a house rule repercussion if they feel like it can seriously meddle with their product.
