Cerrone tweeting that he's down to fight Robbie Lawler in NYC...
Well apparently Robbie Lawler failed his drug test against Macdonald, dude just dropped the news on the mma hourCerrone tweeting that he's down to fight Robbie Lawler in NYC...
'Pissed off' Rory MacDonald suspicious of Robbie Lawler's UFC drug test results after obtaining inside information
On July 11, 2015, Robbie Lawler and Rory MacDonald engaged in a now-infamous five-round championship fight at UFC 189, one that saw both men give it everything they had to give mixed martial arts (MMA) fans one of the best fights in its history.
Relieve it here.
In the end, "Ruthless" managed to stop "Red King" via strikes in the final round, but according to Rory’s recent claims on The MMA Hour, Lawler may not have been fighting fair.
While he tried to hold back and bite his tongue, MacDonald partially spilled the beans, revealing that he has inside info from reliable source that "Ruthless" wasn’t exactly fighting "clean."
And once he completes his research and the allegations turn out to be true, then shyt will hit the fan.
"To answer your question about leaving UFC without winning a belt, yeah I am. Actually right before this conversation, something very interesting came up to me. We are going to have to see where it goes, but it has something to do with the title fight against Robbie Lawler. Some very interesting information just came about. We’ll see what happens with that. I don’t really want to speak too loud about it, but it’s something that really grabbed my attention and I think a lot of people are going to be very interested to hear about this if it actually is true, I have to do my research. But it could be a potentially very big thing and it pisses me off. It pisses me right off to hear about it, to be honest. I feel very robbed. I worked hard for that fight and I fought my heart out. I left everything in there. I left my soul and I really left everything out there. I came in honest, and I always have my entire career. I don’t play with any dirty drugs, any performance enhancers or something I don’t believe in morally. I always believe in myself that if I work hard, work on my techniques, train hard that I can get to the top and be the best. The fact that whatever happened in there, if this is true, it pisses me right off to my core. Some test results came out four times higher than the limit for my fight with him. It could be bullshyt. That’s why we have to look into it. I don’t want to start pointing fingers or anything. Look at that team's history. It makes me very suspicious but I can’t go out and start saying for sure without making my research that all this is true."
Wow.
As a result of five hard-fought rounds with one of the hardest-hitting men in the sport, Rory suffered major facial damage, as you can see here.
To date, Lawler has never failed a pre or post-fight drug test, so if this "source" is correct, one has to wonder why United States Anti-Doping (USADA) didn’t catch it or reveal the alleged findings.
After all, it seems nothing escapes them these days.
Nevertheless, Rory wants to get all of his facts straight before he starts pointing the finger.
Too late?
‘Cyborg’ Santos eyes December return to MMA after skull surgery
One month after undergoing surgery to fix a fractured skull, Bellator fighter Evangelista Santos has already made plans for his return to the cage.
"Cyborg" underwent surgery on July 27 in Texas, days after losing via TKO to Michael Page in London, and hopes to be cleared to slowly return in early September.
"I had a great recovery," Santos told MMA Fighting. "This time off was super important for me. I was so busy doing other stuff that I didn’t even notice how fast his month has passed. It was really uncomfortable three or four days after the surgery, but after that I pretty much rested and studied.
"I plan on coming back to training next week and fighting in December," he continued. "This is my plan. But before I make any decision, I will listen to what the doctors have to say. I have an appointment with the doctor next week to find out if he really clears me to train again, but I’m feeling super fine."
Nothing about the climate of that time suggest they would. Stranger things....I really hope Rory is going to be that bitter guy making up all sorts of wild accusations about his former employer. I doubt anyone at UFC or USADA is risking their integrity to protect Lawler
Rory’s concern is understandable, since luteinizing hormone is involved in testosterone production and is often raised by PEDs; Clomiphene, the drug Lesnar & Jones tested positive for, increases testosterone by improving luteinizing hormone production for instance. Odd hematological results can also be indicators of blood doping, as noted above.
The truth is, none of Lawler's results should have stopped the fight from taking place. While an elevated luteinizing hormone result is odd, it’s not unheard of, and the WADA-accredited lab found no evidence of any performance enhancing drugs in Lawler’s system in any of the tests. The pre-fight hematological test results meanwhile were slightly high, but the results do not appear indicative of blood doping or PED use, and his fight night results were all completely normal.
This fight was crazy
