So Ariel leaked the Lesnar news 1st, we'll now it's being reported every where and who said it first doesn't matter. You what for matter now, who gets the first offical inside interview with Brock about coming back, who gets the first sit down 1 on 1 wit Dana now talking about the matchups with Brock, opponents, if more than fight even. But since Ariel has already burned his bridges he loses out on all these kinds of scoops and footage. Meanwhile a better journalist maybe wldve negotiated some of that wit ufc or Brock b4 leaking a story.

You think he still can't leak news?
Ariel is a good reporter, and he has very good chemistry with most of the fighters in the UFC, and they actually make time to talk to Ariel...So, he will be able to break more news...

The only thing is that he won't be able to witness the news happening live in front of his face (at least in the UFC) that is what he chose to sacrifice by breaking a small crumb like Lesnar returning for UFC200...

There really is very LITTLE buzz about that return...So, why did he feel like he had to be the one to announce it first? Why couldn't he let the UFC handle that?

He lost a lot for bragging rights...

That's the difference with Scherer though, he doesn't ruin the biggest announcements for the NFL. There's a give and take with him and nfl, where nfl will say sometimes alrite u got the scope but give us 1 day or 2 days to get our ducks in a row. With Ariel he was jus releasing breaking news without regard to the parties involved. Remember it's not jus ufc, their are other media, TV, ppv and fighter companies involved.

Biggest job and responsibility of being a journalist is knowing when to break the big scoop and when to bite your tongue. Anybody can get a scoop and jus release information to the public, but that doesn't make you a real journalist. Jus a tornado chaser.

Fair enough. But plenty of the MMA media is backing him so is he wrong? He needs to be honest about all of this UFC been on his head for a minute

Dude sacrificed his direct access to the UFC just to say "I was the first to announce that Lesnar is fighting in UFC200"...

Lesnar can get injured and miss the event...Lesnar can get KOed in the 1st round and be a distant memory...

The UFC probably told him to chill, but he had to do what he had to do...Accept the consequences then...

We are not going to get all the great interviews he does in the pre and post-fight conferences...

One thing about being a journalist is being able to say "I was there when it happened" and telling people what you witnessed...For now, he has lost that...

Reporting your own experience is better than telling people about what an unnamed "source" told you...The later is damn near gossip...

True I get that. I do worry if UFC will ban fighters from talking to him.

There's other ways to report it first without stomping on your money train.

UFC is da only big game in town in mma. Ariel makes his bread basically off the ufc and it's fighters, how many times u wanna go 2 the well and piss off the plug?

A good reporter either wldve 1, just reported huge new fight being added to ufc 200, the big guy is back. Ppl wldve wondered between GSP, or Lesnar etc etc. U got da scoop, 1at reported but u didn't break da bank. 2. Ariel cldve worked wit ufc and jus been like I know bout Brock I'm releasing it right now. Ufc wldve been like no or else ur cut off. Then Ariel says well work wit me, let me be the 1 to release the rows before u tell other outlets. In a day or 2 or three. Give me the exclusive.

Ariel use to get these types of exclusive but 1 to many times he messed wit da plug and now the plug has cut him off. That's normal for lost things in life.
who is to say something like that didn't happen? Ariel has always had a level head and approached the job with the utmost professionalism. Dude has 2 children and a wife to FFS do you really think such a calculated Jew would actively/purposely shake the branch where a beehive lay? Quit slurping that zuffa nut sauce, I am more inclined to think this is another case of the big dawg flexing their muscle on the little guy. He probably went to them with what he knew and was met with crickets then said fuk it

Really hope Weidman doesn't get the title shot next. He should still have to fight Luke. Jacare can fight for the title.

Agree 100%. Weidman shouldnt get to duck the man that knocked him out by sitting and getting a shot (same for Rousey against Holm).

Weidman should fight Rockhold (in NYC), and Bisping should go and get lit up by Jacare.

Also, the UFC should do the right thing about UFC 200 and just have all 7 undercard fights on regular over the air Fox (and their Fight Pass if they want to), not Fox Sports 1

Its a great free card:
-Dillashaw/Assuncao
-Pena/Zingano
-Gastelum/Hendricks
-Lauzon/Sanchez
-Gomi/Miller
-Brunson/Mousasi
-Northcutt/Marin

Go on the air at 6:30 East/ 3:30 West with this card (in this order from bottom to top and its a great night of fights.

Ariel said everything will be addressed on his show tomorrow. He said he was just confirming sources on what he basically heard. So he was running on a rumor that was right :manny:

Weidman needs to sit on the shelf until next year or fight Rockhold
