The majority of athletes are on something. :yeshrug:

Yup, known that for years, no question.

What I've learned from all this is that fans don't care about PED usage, they just hate positive drug test results because of the finality of it. There's no plausible deniability at that point. That's why no one's hating on Rumble - even though he *borderline* admitted usage numerous times, and it's pretty obvious everyone at Blackzillions is juiced to the gills - there's no bottomline saying he officially "cheats".

With the new USADA year-round random drug testing (blood and urine), most fighters will be clean.

^Fixed, lol. Maybe it's just the cynic in me, but all those Olympic athletes are dirty as hell, and they go through the most extensive VADA testing, not to mention stringent testing during Pan-am games, European championships etc., and of course very few of them ever get caught. That recent test leak says it all.

It's my strong opinion that Georges St. Pierre retired because his level of PED usage was at a Cyborg/Belfort level, and he realized what happened to Anderson could happen to him if he continued to use "supplements" at the same rate in the blood and random testing era. He saw it coming, wisely hit the eject button, and passed a self administered VADA test on his way out to kill any suspicion of him since he knew brehs were going to test positive left and right, and they could speculate him off the strength of that.

Interesting theory. But, GSP was planning to retire for a while before his last fight.

I just don't think most MMA fighters have the money or resources to bypass WADA-accredited testing.

He said he was planning to take some time off then probably return. He explicitly claimed he left because of the juicing earlier this year or last year (which is really fishy considering he's been fighting since 2002 and the sport was as dirty as ever until 2015 - NO ONE "finds out" about steroids 11 years into the game), but now insists that "other issues" which he won't specify are also keeping him retired (now that testing is actually very very good). I'm sure he was sincere about retiring somewhere around the time he did retired, but I have no doubt the testing sped up his exit, and is keeping him from ever coming back.

It's just extremely strange to me that he suddenly decided to be Mr. "anti-PED" as soon as testing got real, but didn't say shyt about juicing in the sport when he was truly on top, had the most clout and could have actually made a difference (let's say around UFC 100). Imagine if he threatened to retire if the UFC didn't increase testing back in 2009? He seems obsessed with the PED topic today, but would just deny and quickly drop the subject when BJ Penn, Koscheck, and Nick Diaz accused him of roiding back in the day.

Can't wait :banderas:

This is the fight that will define Weidman for me. Finally get to see if he really is that dude, or if he's just been gassed up off of destroying old Brazilian fighters past their prime.

:blessed::banderas::blessed:

Probably more hyped for this than Aldo vs. McGregor strangely enough.

That's true, but most MMA fighters don't have near the necessary financial resources to consistently stay ahead of the testers. Unless they're in the upper tier of pay MMA guys can't afford to have access to the level of chemists and labs that Olympians and other pro athletes have. Anybody can go buy some PEDs, but staying ahead of the curve with the latest and greatest undetectable drugs is extremely expensive and most guys would be spending most of their fight check on trying to cheat.

I think Mayweather led that whole "clean" testing era.

I spoke to a UFC fighter off air. He told me everyone takes stuff. The UFC knows it too. It has always been see no evil hear no evil. Some really good fighters have lost to certain fighters who were on something and if you actually didn't take something people thought you were actually gonna be a snitch so they didn't trust you.

Weidman UD.

I'm picking Weidman but I want Rockhold to win so we can get Souza v Rockhold 2 and Weidman v Romero...those are the match-ups I'd be most hype to see. Then again, I assumed Condit/Lawler would only happen if Rory won and that ish got booked anyway, so maybe I'll get my wish regardless.
