Does glover fight every card? The ufc survived before glover and will survive after glover.

You need to understand the majority of ufc fans and ppv buyers are not superfans like most ppl in this thread. The ufc is a brand and survived before glover and will survive after glover. Bones Jones cn do coke go to jail possibly and the ufc will still go on with or without him. They'll be a new champ, new cards and new sponsors to sign.

Just like any of our jobs in real life. If we left our work ur job wld just hire some1 to do your job and it'll be business as usual. Stop thinking these fighters are special and 1 in n a million, they aren't. There's always some1 else ready to step up to take that belt from the last guy. How's Dominic Cruz doing? Ufc did fine without him as champ, kept on moving.
If we are going by that logic. UFC is hurting for Brock, gsp and silva to be back in the octagon, hell add Jones into the mix because their ppv numbers are wretched without those guys. And the "so called" brand is milking these old fighters till they run dry because they haven't figured out a marketing strategy to stick to make the next star. If UFC wasn't reliant on the fighters they could make another star just like that.

:ehh:Jon Bones Jones sighting, came across this thread on boxden

So I was in the airport traveling from Albuquerque, New Mexico to Seattle.

I walked over to my gate and looked for a spot to relax at, but as I walked over to this corner area away from everyone there was this one dude sitting in da cut solo and as I walked over towards him he got up to throw some food away.

When he turned towards me, we saw each other and we acknowledged each other. I gave da

And he gave one right back

I had a few glasses of Remy, so i was mellow and I didn't press him cause I knew he had some sh*t on his mind and you could tell.

But I asked him "how him and his family was doing" and he said "Everything is good, just hard work and no play"

We took a pic but the day before was my daughters birthday, and I wasn't thinking I should've gotten him to give a video shout out to her.

ME: Take your time getting back and fu*k what D.C talking about, but do you know when you'll be back ?

Bones:"I'm not too sure, but right now I'm just headed to Canada"

Cause I noticed he was looking at the same gate I was going to go through.

ME: "I appreciate da photo, and i'm not gonna ask you a sh*t load of questions but what do you think about Ronda coming at Floyd constantly?"

Jones: That's what happens when youre the best, and unfortunately for certain people if you have a strike against you some people think that's the green light to go after you, even if they've never met you!

Me: You think she'll rag doll him like Dana said.

Bones: Gave the

then said he pleads the fifth and that him pleading doesn't mean sh*t!

Me: Yeah, no doubt...i'm not TMZ so I aint recording sh*t...I know you just tryin to lay low, but why youre sitting up in here and not being mobbed is crazy!

Bones: No problem, thanks for having my back.

Me: before I bounce have you heard of Boxden?

Bones: I think I might have...

So I show him Boxden on my cell along with

Bones: What!! That's the best smiley they have of me

Me: LMAO, so gave him dap and went and got beer till my flight.

Turns out his seat was adjacent to mines.

But that's all brethren..its not a big story, he was humble as hell and he wasn't like some people or sights portray him to be.

Ok company shill. You need to stop with this UFC is the draw and the fighters can be replaced easily. Because it's clear as day the numbers are not what it was 6 years ago. You can't go "No Brock? That's cool. Here is Cain/Werdum" it's the opposite. The hardcore are the ones who stick around while the casuals leave when the big name aren't fighting. You mention Jones. That card flopped without him. So stop mentioning that they don't need to pay to pay because they are replacable.

Not a huge fan of Condit getting a title shot off beating Alves, but I understand not wanting to go back to Hendricks/Lawler III just yet

Wow condit vs lawler that quick? Give it to woodley. Let condit go against Johnny.

That Jon jones story is cool as hell. He's going to train at Tristar.

The ppv numbers aren't the same because ufc does more free shows in fox than they use to before. More free fights and just more fights in general kow because of this fox deal than ever before. Compare the number of fights on Fox in last 10 months to the old Spike deal, it's not even close. With more fights on Fox it means less stacked ppv cards because you need some content for TV.

Your a smart guy when it comes to Mma and fighting but simple business and branding your clueless. Every top sport has gone thru this phase of being about the brand of their league and not the individuals. And in every sport the athletes complain and then in a cpl yrs a new crop of athletes come up to replace em and the sport just goes in. Ufc is slowly trying to get there. So why not suppose the Mma brand that we all consistent watch and enjoy the most? I can't depend on these smaller organizations being around long term.

UFC champ Chris Weidman vs. Luke Rockhold tentatively scheduled for December

UFC champ Chris Weidman vs. Luke Rockhold tentatively scheduled for December

:camby: at december

I love this fight but c'mon, we all know weidman is a injury waiting t happen. Weidman is healthy NOW and can't be that much out of shape after fighting Vitor. I don't see why they couldn't make that fight for the Sept card or even October.

i don't mind hendricks-woodley but at the same time, how the fuk do condit deserve a title shot before either one of them. lawler-condit is a nice fight though :manny:

I'd rather see a fresh match-up like Condit/Lawler than Lawler/Hendricks III so I think it's a good call.

You could have made a case for Woodley getting the shot, but he lost definitively to MacDonald. If he beats Hendricks though then no doubt he's next in line.

Making new stars is exactly what UFC does, rite now their marketing Connor to be the next 1. Sometimes its an older fighter making a new push like Lawler. Guys like Brock, GSP and Silva were great for the ufc for exposure and pushing the sport but eventually they get da money and once they get the money sadly the days of fighting 3 times a year stops and sooner or later they retire or just dont have the love of fighting anymore. And when that happens a new young hungry fighter will fill their shoes.

Wanderlei campaigning to 'unmask' UFC's fixed fights

Things just took another interesting turn in the ongoing dispute between Wanderlei Silva and the UFC. The former Pride Champion and UFC headliner has been persona-non-grata since fleeing drug testing officials in the lead up to his bout with Chael Sonnen following the two men's stint on the Ultimate Fighter. Because of his failure to submit to random drug testing, Silva was handed a lifetime ban from competition by the Nevada State Athletic Commission. That sentence has since been overturned in the courts, but in the year since his ban Silva has entrenched himself against the UFC with a war of words that has been continually escalating.

An outspoken critic of the UFC's clauses controlling image rights, their recent out-of-competition drug testing plans, and the UFC's new Reebok uniforms, Silva may have just crossed a new line. In a set of posts on Facebook, Silva accused the UFC of hosting fixed fights, implying heavily that the UFC themselves are in on the fix, and that he has proof. Here's what Silva had to say in an initial post (translation via MMAJunkie):

"They fired him. That's right. They fired ‘Stitch' for standing against this theft being perpetrated on the athletes. So I wonder, ‘why don't they fire me?' I already said I do not want to, nor will I work any more for to this promotion. And they won't dismiss me. That's what happens to those who speak the truth in this company; they're driven out. They have no respect for anyone. I've made it very clear to you all that I will never again fight for this promotion, the U.F. Circus. Fixed fights - and I can prove it! I haven't yet dropped the bomb. I haven't said everything I know!"

And in a followup, making his implications more direct that it's the UFC themselves behind the fight fixing:

"Either you do what they tell you, or you're fired. I won't give up until they free the athletes. This promoter is killing our sport. There are fighters going back to work to support their families because they can't live from the sport alone. They're very poorly paid. We are getting organized and soon I'll have news for my brothers in the ring. This will not stand! Some have tried to buy me, but I am not, nor have I ever been for sale. And I will fight to the end, to unmask these promoters, who are deceiving the public, cheating, and taking the dignity and the honor from our sport! This is turning a pro-wrestling show with fixed fights. We have to stop these guys because that's the end of the line for us!"

Those are some serious accusations for him to level and it will be interesting to see if the UFC takes direct legal action, or what evidence Silva can in fact produce. It's one thing for him to criticize the UFC's business moves and for him to claim that his career has been torpedoed unjustly, but he's now effectively accusing the UFC of breaking the law to a pretty serious extent. If there is any merit behind his statements the fallout could be huge. If there isn't, the fallout for Silva himself could be every bit as damaging.

Either Wandy is going to be living on the streets after the UFC's lawyers are done or the UFC is going to take irreparable damage:leon:
