A lot of the challengers were known martial artists, but a lot of them were also random dudes like this who made BS claims and got dealt with.

Patrick Martin, Josh Neer's opponent in the "beatdown" video, is giving his side of the story. (And note that Martin had joined Neer's gym a few days before the "beatdown," so the two were not strangers, according to the gym owner.)

"My side is that we had a three minute sparring round that [Neer] couldn't score or take me down," said Martin. "He threw wild punches [that] I dodged and [countered] with my sixteen ounce gloves. I did all the punching, also mixed a couple of kicks in.

"Everything you see is after the round bell sounded as I turned away from him picking up my mouth piece I dropped after the round.

"[Neer said] that I talk sh*t about MMA fighters, [but] I talked sh*t to him after [he disrespected] me about a wrestling drill I was tired in. So I left it alone until I saw him out and I bought him a couple beers, and then he walked off talking sh*t to his buddy about me. So I blew up on him on Facebook demanding a full contact spar. I said I'll bring sixteen ounce [gloves]. So, the beef is with him and a couple other of his gym's fighters who [were] talking sh*t on my page.

"I'm not scared of fuc*ing Josh Neer. ... [And] he [doesn't] want to show the full video."

If he gave up, I don't see why he would continue beating down.

Can't wait for this fight. People have been highly critical of Barão since the first fight, and rightfully so, but he looked like an unstoppable monster before UFC 173. I'm hoping that version shows up in Montreal.
