But the fight will be at HW. And its always questions for someone changing divisions for the first time. We dont know what shape will Jon Jones be in. Will the extra weight be muscle or fat? Will the weight affect his cardio. Plus he doesnt have KO power so thats out the question. We know what Cain will do. Stalk jones up against the fence. Difference between Cain and DC is in addition to Cain having better crisp boxing, he wont get tired. I find it difficult to see Jones beating cain. Oh yea, JDS is better then anyone Jones has faced and Cain demolished him twice

Jds isn't better than everyone that jones face. I bet dc beats jds. Hell machida probably beats jds and glover may give him a run for his money at catch weight.

"[Jon Jones] should be a star amongst stars," said Cormier in a recent interview. "He should go to places like the [ESPN] ESPY awards and be as recognized as some of the greatest [athletes] in the world, but because of the things he does outside of the Octagon, it holds him back."

The end of the 5th round against Machida he was struggling. I don't know if it was Machida's increased aggression in the championship rounds, Weidman gassing, or a mixture of both but he definitely looked vulnerable.
Yea he was standing in front of machida in those later rounds with his mouth open. And the first silva fight he did the same thing after they stood up of his first TD. Hes a big ass MW. His cardio has always been an issue.
:ehh:

Although he did take some hard shots.

No. Just no :snoop: I agree about DC possibly beating JDS if its a three rounder. But we just saw DC fades. And JDS has excellent body strikes.

Machida used to fight at heavy weight years ago. As far as glover they both would be standing swinging at each other

Yup. People are forgetting that Machida landed some strong good kicks to the body throughout the fight, so I wouldn't be surprised if that tired Weidman out a little. Still, I thought he did very well considering it was the first time he ever went the full 25. He needed that experience.

Agree with some of y'all statements on Shogun. I'm so scared for his health, I almost don't want to see him fight again, even though I (selfishly) want to see him take on some big name fights (like I THOUGHT he was gonna do against Anderson).

And speaking of Anderson, I would really hope he declines a title shot (if Weidman is still champ), because as weird as those two fights were, it's been established who's simply better at this stage of their respective careers. If anything, I'd rather with this new contract that Anderson just only goes for big name fights, like here with Diaz, and if possible, dabble a little in 205. I know he probably won't ever fight Shogun and I damn sure know he'll never fight Lyoto, but maybe a fight against Rampage or Rashad could do good to great numbers. Maybe if before Jones moves to HW, he takes on Anderson in a true dream match, because at this point, I'd rather see Anderson close out his career with a bang, giving back to the fans by giving them what they want to see.

MMA conspiracy of the day: Was Chael Sonnen making a Cocaine reference to Jon "Bones" Jones when he drank a Coca Cola at their weigh ins and posted this tweet back in 2012?

:what: it's not his actions outside the octagon that styming him from brushing shoulders with the who's who of sports that's a ufc/mma not being popular problem. Sidney crosby for all his talents ain't exactly the star he should be and that's cuz nobody cares about the nhl.

The mma community should actually be thankful the sport isn't popular cuz if it was stories like these would get more traction and cause a shytstorm

Ps Cormier needs to stop talking about Jones now, don't care what his other job is
