Man, I love cormier to knock da fukk outta Jones so badly. But something telling me this gonna be one of those fights game plans where Jackson comes up with something no1 expected and has Bones Jones stay in close in the clinch and just take down DC non stop for a couple rounds. I always remember what all the top wrestlers say, the 1 spot they are not comfortable is on their back. I can see Bones using a trip or flip and gettin DC down and just staying in full guard but with his length (reach) cut em up or wear em out with elbows and body shots.
Even when standing, keepin em close in the clinch along the cage. That way DC has no room to wind up for those big shots. while jones hits em wit dem bones ass elbows of his and cuts him up.
i know everyone is expecting Bones to use his reach and length and his DC from outside the pocket, but Jackson always has these never would of thought it game plans.

DC brought in Buchecha for Jiu-Jitsu (current ADCC/Abu Dhabi champ at his weight, and is a 6x Champion at the Worlds, and a 2x Champion at the NoGi Worlds. He's a fukking beast and he's an ultra heavyweight that moves like a featherweight. If Cormier spent good time with him on Jiu Jitsu, that eases a lot of my concerns.
I thought if it went to the floor that Jones might give some trouble with those super long arms in terms of being able to snag that prayer-guillotine he does, or maybe a darce/brabo choke or anaconda choke. Maybe some kind of leg lock as well. Buchecha is really big and has long limbs, and is good at all of those things. So hopefully he was able to put the heat on Cormier more than Jones can.
That Russian wrestler at DC brought in is also a beast. I think DC's biggest concern should be Jones keeping him at distance and eating him up with strikes. I wouldn't be surprised to see DC pull a Fedor an duck during a punch and bull rush in to clinch.
I have the weirdest thing as a Jones fan/hater. I was the biggest Jones fan from his first UFC fight up until after the machida fight where he gave him the Mortal Kombat Fatality business. It was before the Rashad fight. All the stuff that Rashad said about him at Jackson's. And then I know a dude at Jackson's that has said Jones is a pretty big a$$hole, then there was the anti DUI commercial followed by the DUI. Then he didn't sign that kid's fake UFC belt "because the kid "didn't earn it."
I don't even dislike that Jones is a dikk. I just wish he'd stop pretending to be a nice guy. If he just embraced being a heel I'd go back to being a huge fan.

I meant to post this earlier, but if anyone wants to check this out, Reilly Bodycomb is a sick leglock guy and Sambo competitor/instructor, and he gives a lot of good insight on Palhares/Fitch, Palhares in general, the problem with attacking limbs instead of chokes in MMA, knee reaping, differences in Sambo and BJJ, and lots of other good stuff.

why are people like you so obsessed with this heel vs nice guy nonsense? Jones been who jones was before the shogun fight he would sign fans merchandise saying "your new light heavy weight champ" not every fighter is humble nor should they be. They are fighters sometimes they will be a dikk. Jones always had a flare to him dude just isn't a natural sht talker. So he comes off a bit reserved and awkward. If he had Connor megregor mouth piece. He would be spewing it but he knows at times he sounds stupid and doesn't have really good rebuttals so he just keeps his mouth shut. I.E. The rampage fight. Rampage went out there and sold that fight jones didn't. Shoot even the rashad fight jones was mum.

That's basically my point. I wish he was better at talking shyt. I don't dislike the fact that he's a dikk. There's dudes I train with that have trained with him and say he's a piece of shyt. That doesn't make me not like him. I don't need fighters to be good people for me to like them, and I don't know first hand that he's not a good guy. I just know that he's one of the top 3 fighters I enjoy watching. it's been that way since I first saw him fight. I also don't like his personality. It's all good. I like how you phrased it. I just wish he was a little less awkward in terms of his personality. But at the end of the day I'm always gonna be one of the first in line to watch him fight.

Same here. i hate to say it because I love Aoki, but I don't think he would've done that well in the UFC. That era at LW was so wrestler heavy and I think he would've got decision'd by some guys. I really wanted to see him over here though. I've also heard he's very xenophobic and doesn't like traveling or even America very much.
