Well that completely sucked
Just now catching the game and I'm starting to fully cosign the GMB crew

Where to start, I'm not as pissed as I probably/normally am, this game was a example of attrition and lack of depth. We are sorely in need of playmakers, there's only so much scheming you can do to make up for depth of talent. 'Bril playing that much O is more symptom of a larger issue at hand.

But the future is bright and any1 saying different is lying out they azz, we heading in the right direction. I'm wondering wha bowl we getting depending on where I might just take a road trip.

They returned a team fresh off winning a NC.We returned a team that went 5-7 huge difference in talent

few pertinent notes on Jordan Elliott's commitment:

1. This is a recruitment where persistence paid off for the Michigan staff. Elliott's history is well-documented here and other places....he's had a tendency to be a little bit all over the map when it comes to leaders, commitments, etc....USC, Alabama, Texas, Baylor, Houston have all been schools that have been heavily involved with him, as has Michigan. The difference here is two-fold: Michigan kept the pressure on for months, working not just Elliott but his family as well, and their success on the field (today notwithstanding) gave him some more confidence to pledge his future to Jim Harbaugh and the Wolverines, particularly over Texas

2. Elliott is exactly the type of player Michigan wants to recruit in the middle after watching a game like today's. He's an athletic run-stuffer that can sit in the middle and play the one-technique spot at a high level. He, along with Rashan Gary, were the two players Michigan coveted most to finish out with on the defensive line.

3. Word on our end this week was that Elliott had given Michigan some kind of indication that he was going to pledge to them this weekend as long as the visit went as expected. As 247Sports National Analyst Steve Wiltfong alluded to in his preview this weekend, mom is expected to be in Ann Arbor in a couple weeks to visit herself, and we're told Elliott will be with her as well. She is a vice-principal at another Houston school and was reportedly in favor of her son leaving the area to play college ball to get a more well-rounded experience both on and off the field.

Houston (TX) Westside four-star defensive tackle Jordan Elliott committed to Michigan on Saturday.

Here's what coaches see in Jordan Elliott as a prospect.

Elliot has all the vital parts to the game of an elite defensive lineman. He's got the elite frame at 6-foot-4, 305-pounds and is versatile enough to play several different techniques along the defensive line. Elliott has the ball-get-off and explosiveness off the line that translates to tackles for a loss and backfield penetration. He can flip his hips and get down the line of scrimmage in pursuit of the ball carrier.

Elliott has the chippy demeanor you want on the defensive line and he's in the mold of a brawler in the trenches. He's a guy you can keep on the field for all three downs because he can help collapse the pocket against the pass. Elliott has a raw upside to him that coaches love to the get their hands on. He has the exclusive power combined with agility elite defensive lineman possess.
Elliott could end up being a big time force at the next level when you consider his talent, strength, and physical ability in the trenches. All great college football teams have depth on the defensive line and Elliott should be able to come in and provide some depth early at Michigan based on the tools we see he has.
Much needed stock this team with this type of talent not B level Ohio-Michigan kids

Depth was the biggest issue. Well besides those bums at LB but we already knew that. We weren't talented enough to absorb the Mone, Glasgow, and Omejudia (whatever the fukk that is) injuries. These are the games where they are necessary because the linebackers can't tackle anything that is not stood up.

Depth was an issue but Glasgow played against Minnesota they had over 460 yards. Utah exposed those bums at LBer first OSU is more talented then us gotta close that gap in recruiting.I just don't wanna see anymore Morgan,Bolden,Clark,Jenkins Stone,Goldin,Strobel type talents ever getting playing time at Michigan again

Just overall need more elite talent:mjcry:
@Trust Me your opinions breh
Everybody else feel free to post those opinions

Breh, I mean what else can be said? You hit it on the head.

The worse part of today was that we had the gameplan to win .. we just didn't have the talent to get it done. I fully believe in the Durkin/Mattison tandem. You just CANT miss that many tackles against average teams and expect to win. Even LESS so against the elite teams like Ohio State. Against Michigan State, we let LJ Scott free on a couple of runs also, and it killed us. You know the old saying .. you can't teach an old dog new tricks ... well it applies here. You can't teach Desmond Morgan and Joe Bolden to tackle. They're linebackers. That should be in their blood. I've never seen so many missed tackles. And to make things even worse, on some of those 'attempts' .. it seemed as if Bolden just wanted no part of tackling anyone (ESPECIALLY Zeke)

(Levels of worry going forward ?/10)

Recruits:
If I'm a Linebacker/Running Back/Oline recruit .. I'm drooling right now. Lets face it. Michigan is a top 10 school nationally academically. Add to that the fact that our football program is one of the top programs in the country.. and we're a damn attractive option for any of these young kids.

QB - I think we're set here for the next few years. Obviously we're gonna keep recruiting them every year.. but Harbaugh's off to a damn good start. Peter's is gonna be the truth. O'Korn might get the nod next year, and by the looks of his film, I think I'm ok with that. Unless Peters comes in and TAKES the job (which I see as a possibility, since he's enrolling early <next month>) I'm not a fan of BYU dude that people are talking about transferring in. Dude stays hurt, and it would cost us a scholly on an elite high school senior. No thanks. Remember, (although I think he's gonna be converted into a tight end at some point) we'll have Zach Gentry in the mix next year at QB too. 6'7 240 .. runs a 4.6 Damn good athlete. That's O'Korn, Gentry and Peters battling it out. I think Speight transfers, which is a good thing because it'll open up another scholly, and because he fukking sucks. I never understood that offer by Hoke and Co. (1/10 level of worry)

RB - I'll go on record again and say that I don't think Kareem Walker is a program changer. I think he's a good back, but he doesn't have great speed nor balance. Again, good back .. I just dont see the 5 star rating. I saw it more in Derrick Green a couple of years ago, and look at how that turned out. I can't express how bad the state of our running backs is. Explain to me why every time Pepp got a carry, even if he was met at the line.. he'd be able to muster 3 yards... yet any other back would go down faster than my ex ole lady? He runs with power and speed. He sees a hole, and hits it. Full force. Why can't any other back do that? 2nd and 6-7 is so much better than 2nd and 10. Because every time De'Veon got a carry, it was literally a waste of a down. I've said this all year long. He's NOT a division 1, every down back. (8.5/10)

WR - These guys are being coached up and it shows. All of our receivers play the same. They play hard. They have good hands. They get open, and they block their asses off. Cant wait till Drake Harris and Brian Cole find their way onto the field. I'm not worried about them moving forward. Not to mention what our WR class is shaping up to look like. (4/10)

TE - As long as we have Harbaugh, we'll be fine, and TE's are gonna wanna come to Michigan. Butt (I think) comes back next year. We've got Ian Bunting, Chase Winovich, and a healthy Tyrone Wheatley Jr. Not to mention the possibility of the #1 tight end in the country (Isaac Nauta) joining this class. (No worries)

OL - I've got a feeling some of these kids are gonna be run off, and rightfully so. I think guys like Kalis wont be brought back for their 5th year. I also think guys that don't fit what we're trying to do might get run off too. I don't understand why we can't get any push. Even against the scrubs that we play. Oregon State for example .. we had a decent rushing showing, but most of those yards were from missed tackles on their part. It wasn't from us running through the gaping holes that the OLine opened up. (9.5/10 level of worry)

DB - If JD comes back (which I think he will because he's already said that he came to Michigan to get his degree) then I see us being pretty damn dominant. If David long comes, along with another year of Stribling getting better .. and hopefully moving Jeremy Clark back to safety (he doesn't have the hips to play corner) .. then we can use Jabrill more on offense. I'm not really worried about our DB's, or our DB recruiting. (3/10)

LB - I hate everything about this group. I liked Gedeon.. but he got exposed today also. I'm glad Morgan and Bolden are gone. That's addition by subtraction. We need more speed and tenacity here. I think Harbaugh gets some elite ones.

DL - This group will be our bread and butter going forward. And with the return of Bryan Mone, and Glasgow... along with the guys we have now .. AND the incoming class ... (especially if you include Gary) ,,, WOW. Look out. Our boys will stay fresh.
