Anybody else feel a certain type of way about Higdon skipping the bowl game?I would understand if he was 1st or even 2nd round pick but:francis:

Yep..

Been on the ground in AA literally and figuratively in the last 38 hours or so. Heard a lot during that period and below are some thoughts based on things I have the most confidence in believing approaches the truth. Matters that I consider premature or not up to my reliability standards are withheld. This is only an attempt to share and not an effort to promote or disparage any Coach, player or cause.

The team votes for mvp. The players are confident that Chase did not receive the most votes. Supposedly Coach Harbaugh decided that the award would not go to someone who was leaving early. That explanation was accepted by some, found unacceptable by others.

Coach, as you would expect, was disappointed with those that left early but did not express it publicly. Some viewed his disappointment as being contrary to his recruiting pitch; “Come to UM and I will get you ready for the league.”

Higdon was asked by the coaches how he could turn his back on the team. His response: “ Y’all turned your back on me when Coach Wheatley was let go and replaced by somebody who never coached the position.”

70-30 that Coach Hamilton will not return. And it’s been that way for nearly half the season. “But keep one thing in mind; if Pep moves on UM will have to hire a qb coach as well. That is not an ideal role for coach Harbaugh to take on given his other responsibilities.”

Coach Warriner was involved in some play calling. There is a belief he would like to be given more responsibility in this respect.

When Solomon transferred his mom tweeted “actions speak louder than words.” Many tried to decipher what it meant. In this case it’s not what most thought.

When UM recruits a player, one of the pitches is that every commitment will be made to insure success, both on and off the field. Sometimes however, no matter how mighty the effort, things just don’t go as planned. Going to leave it at that.

There is concern with safety play; both in terms of ability and confidence in tutelage.

I read Henson’s recent missive. Can’t speak to his journalistic standards i.e. what his sourcing policy is or how responsible he is when reporting. I doubt however that Coach has a practice of promising playing time to certain players, at least in the sense that it is “guaranteed.” Opportunities to earn time, sure.
Unequivocal declarations, no.

Hudson thought he was good enough to start. Was even told that more playing time would be coming. When it didn’t happen on his timeline he bolted. Hardly a situation where a player at this level doesn’t at one point have an issue with something; playing time, academics, quality of touches, being away from home/family etc. The great majority work their way through it, some choose to leave. Always been a reality. And expect more of it given the current atmosphere.

And speaking of being patient, both Joe and Dylan are confident in their abilities and are expecting coach to create an environment for legit competition this spring and fall.

If Peters decides to transfer keep an eye on Purdue.

Gentry was recruited to play qb. Can’t speak to all of what transpired prior to the switch but he chose to move, evidently to get on the field faster. Moves like this also are common.

My sense is that a lot of this discontent narrative is simply a product of not winning enough games. More wins, less effort to find criticism with relatively trivial stuff. In other words a coach coming off a championship run or otherwise considered to be a “successful season” is given more deference, even by those predisposed to be critics. Disappointing seasons, expose coaches to more critique, both quantitatively and qualitatively. Remains to be seen how the coaches and players respond. No denying that this is a sniping season or that some of it isn’t deserved. And the challenge for the fans will be avoiding the company of the miserable. Frankly it’s all about choices.

Basketball.

If you’ve noticed you seen (at least lately) some opponents having more success staying in games. Maybe even to the point where there may be some consternation about the defense. Talked to coach Yahlich after the game today and asked were recent teams attacking UM differently on offense it. He said in one primary way. “Teams know we are going to get out and contest shots from the perimeter so the response has been to try to do more stuff off the dribble ...... to the basket.”

I then asked if the diagnosis for that is walling off the opponent with the body?

“Yes and with the arms extended.”

I suspect they will be just fine overall, just expect that teams who have multiple talented offensive players will be a challenge. Well at least the ones who are well coached. In other words, unlike North Carolina.

We’re fukked. It’s time to move on breh.. but we know Harbs is gonna be here at least one more year. :mjcry:
I'll say this my preseason prediction was 10-2 so they did what I expected them to considering the schedule.Harbaugh has done a good job improving the talent level. But we play some guys that wouldn't be in Clemson or Alabama 3 deep.At one point we had Furbush Glasgow Mettelus Watson Marshall Kinnel Steuber:scust:These type of players not winning shyt of significance :hhh:.Where in the hell are the Jordan Anthony cam mcgrone Ambry Thomas of the world.I mean how many times this staff put Kinnel in man coverage before they realize he fukking sucks.Mettelus&Watson blow a 3rd 20 coverage?Kinnel can't make a play on Felipe Franks in the open field:scust:.Don't get me started on the offense it's prehistoric needs whole sale changes not even worth discussing. If Harbaugh stubbornness gets him run out here fukk it he only has himself to blame:manny:.11+ wins BT championship is the minimum next year all the toughest games are at home no excuses:camby:

We need to get over the hump for sure, but it’s 3 active coaches who won a chip in the past 5 plus years St.Saban, Yaba Dabo, and Urbs, they have respectively dominated their conferences despite the rise of some teams, not many can get past these juggernauts so are the other coaches shytting the bed or are they clearly outmatched personnel, and coaches. Now mind you as I type this we just gave up a 50 yard run, some changes need to happen, but we are a better team under Harbs, and clip him and get who ??? Who out there would do a better job than him, we literally would need one of the better coordinators out there which most of them have HC jobs or the big 3 HC, our issue is in game adjustments, and refusal to do so, we need another offensive coordinator, i hoped we got Kliff but alas nope

This is my thoughts in another thread @Trust Me

I’ll add, someone has to make brown accountable, and adjust to the different opponents, in the nfl any coach will watch what a team did to get success against you and repeate it. You saw Indiana run drags, and osu literally did that to us, to death, and we had no plan or adjustments, Florida came in and took advantage of all the man to man we run, you have to switch it up

Someone has to take over playcalling/offense
