but yeah, this is the city for low cost of living and good, cheap eats. bar scene is decent if you don't mind coming to midtown or the university of memphis areas. imo, this ain't an ideal place to start a family or raise kids unless you've got private school money or stay all the way out in arlington/collierville or some shyt, lol. seems like there's a lot more to do here than a decade ago. don't sleep on spots like brother juniper's (breakfast) and sekisui (sushi, japanese)...or trolley stop (fye azz pizza)

c/s deja vu, i ate there back when they had a location in the hood and :wow:

memphis tap water :wow:

that locally brewed beer had a nka turnt at cooper young festival, more and more black people coming through each year

word, i've passed by a few times but have yet to eat at the new location. been hearing good things about their sunday brunch

some cool spots on s main, bluefin's another spot for sushi that's popular with the young black crowd (i'd only go for drinks and gals). majestic grill, aldo's, sob's, seems like i'm forgetting a couple of places (is spindini still open?)

there's a pretty big music festival along with a barbeque contest here in may. shyt usually gets pretty muddy down there tho, the roots perform damn near every year, lol

Also for anyone who has big baller money to spend, and y;all are looking for a 5 star quality restaurant, then you must try Folk's Folly.

Folks Folly has the best steaks i have ever had, hands down. The steaks, spinach casserole, and bread pudding killing everybody.

Oh and for people who like Italian go to Amerigo from 4-6. Everything is damn near 40% off, get the fried cheese balls.

A good lunch spot is Lunchbox Eats over by FedEx Forum. They got some cheddar honey mustard chicken and waffles and canteloupe/watermelon/honeydew melon lemonade thats out of this world.

One thing i liked about Memphis is that they have some really good restaurants and you can get anywhere in the city in 30 minutes tops. Here in Atlanta a restaurant could be an hour away. But on the other hand if you tired of hitting the main spots then there isnt really much else.

Yeah it's really fancy,& expensive now. I was trying to get a job there, but the hiring manager that was about to hire me, got fired. It sucks to cause I heard the tips are amazing.

And I would love to know more about that music festival. hopefully it's on a week day, that way I will be able to enjoy it like I want too. Also, OP or anyone who is reading this post. There is this new bar called the Red Zone, a girl that I work with told me it's pretty HOT! I have not been there myself, but I will be stopping by there to see if they will hire me for a part time job, and I will give you guys my input. Also try the Prive.

I never had their steaks, but their she-bass stop is good. That's actually the only thing I like on the menu. And I never heard of Lunchbox Eats, I probably need to stop by there soon. Do you know if the people make nice tips or not? Also OP, try Mud Island, Cordova,& Collieville.

musicfest is cool, it's three days long from friday-sunday in early may. if you like different genres of music and don't mind mud/rain/yt ppl, i'd say check it out, ticket prices and three day passes are reasonably priced.

red zone's in hickory hill off winchester, right? my people went to a day party there a couple of weeks ago but i didn't get any feedback, hmm. i fell through prive and walked right back out, lol. it looks like a whole lotta stunting goes on there (i did go when there was a birthday celebration for gotti so maybe the normal crowd's less flashy)

From what I heard , PoRachet, Privae is like that on normal days too. I worked with Executive Chef over there when he was at the Old Holiday Inn Select on Democrat.

I live Downtown. I love it but its hella expensive.I just ate at Deja Vu today. Their Shrimp Creole is :noah:

What I notice is there are no wing spots down here except Hooters.

Will be back later with my take in the good, the and the ugly. Need some time for this

Its DEAD SMACK in the hood but the around the world pizza is life :banderas:
