I'm from memphis. What's there to do REALLY depends on your age. I don't know how old you are so....
As far as food all those famous restaurants are overhyped. I've had better at little holes in the wall places. Gus's friend chicken is good tho.
As far as hoods you got pockets just like any city. It's 60% black so if you're trying to escape nikkas then sorry my friend, but if you're trying to escape like hardcore "official" hoods then stay out of noth and south memphis.
I don't currently "live" there because I'm away at school, but to be honest I do miss home

Breh I can't remember the name of that Rib shack that's on Winchester a few blocks past/before Perkins. At least I think those are the streets. I haven't been there in like 15yrs. Gus's has the best chicken ever, but them sides could use some improvement. Tennessee as whole is boring. Nashville, Knoxville, Chattanooga, and Memphis are some of the most dullest places I've been to. I miss my fam but I would never move back to TN.

I've never been to Chat but memphis and Nashville got the potential but as far as memphis they aren't really funneling the money toward entertainment. Take the pyramid. That big ass building and they wanna put a bass pro shop in there

70% of Memphis city limits is the hood. Even the high income areas like Midtown and East Memphis are right next to the hoods.
I live in Cordova off Germantown PWY which is supposed to be somewhat safe, but I keep hearing about burglaries and car theft.
The police force has become a joke because of the c00n mayor. The economy here is a joke and that leads to more crime. There are literally no really jobs for these young wild nikkas to work.
I have seriously started thinking about moving back home to Dallas, but I like my job right now.
The women are easier here as well.
I also love that Memphis is a Dallas Cowboys town.
