Yea u can record straight in the maschine but only on mac(might be wrong tho) the name of the program is soundflower
That's incorrect. What you're talking about is recording the internal audio from another software on the same computer into Maschine.

You can record directly into Maschine whether you're on PC or Mac.

Also, someone mentioned they're gonna check out Mashine by downloading it. I can tell you right now that you won't ever really get what Maschine's workflow is about without using the hardware controller.

just a quick tip.. make sure yall that sample wit maschine learn to use choke groups in order to cut off samples on time when playing ur samples in rhythm, also if you want a sound to loop u have to set it to ADSR so that when u press and hold the pad it plays the loop over and over you got me. lol

Im really close to getting Maschine, since I don't really use my MPC to sequence anymore. I usually just sample into the MPC, chop it and replay it however I want. Once I get a few patterns of the sample, I record it all into Pro Tools. In Pro Tools, I add to the sample with drums and synths/virtual instruments.

Those that have worked on the MPC, did it streamline your workflow?
