On December 12, 2012, China will release CZ12, or as many fans know the film as, CHINESE ZODIAC. The film is directed by and starring Jackie Chan, in what he says will be his last action masterpiece…for a while.

In what looks to be the third installment of Chan’s ARMOUR OF GOD films, Chan’s Asian Hawk takes on two protégés, Simon and Coco. Simon is played by Korean actor Kwon Sang-Woo (VOLCANO HIGH) while Coco is played by newcomer Yao Xingtong. The trio must find a way to retrieve a group of statue heads representing the twelve signs of the Chinese Zodiac.

The film co-stars Oliver Platt, Vincent Sze, Christian Bachini, Caitlin Dechelle, and a cameo appearance from jazz musician Kenny G. The film had been shot in Paris, Australia, China, Vanuatu, and Latvia. The film marks Chan’s return to the director’s chair after twenty-one years. His last film as director was the second installment of ARMOUR OF GOD, OPERATION CONDOR (1991).

Check out the trailers above to get a little glimpse of what to expect from Jackie Chan and company in CZ12 on December 12, 2012.

The job, which gets entrusted to Bing (Elvis Tsui Kam-kong) and Doggy (Chen Jing), proves to be a perilous one, as successive police officers demand steep bribes in exchange for not turning the fugitives over to their higher-ups. When they near Hong Kong, the gangsters learn that the border is closed. Yet with some quick thinking and the help of some sympathetic fishermen, they manage to slip their charges into Hong Kong. Unfortunately, a vengeful Red Army officer slips into the colony too and so Bing and Doggy find themselves caught between Mainland forces and Hong Kong cops who want them for previous crimes.
