McGee and Young walking didn't free that much money up. I don't think they made the trade for the same reasons you think they did. Nene's on a bad deal, but Nene produces. Amar'e's not a sure thing regarding his health, and on top of that his numbers aren't gonna be what they used to be at the price tag you're paying him.

and the Wizards will still have money available to them once Lewis and Blatche are off the books, so a guy like Nene is medium risk at worst. Other teams might not have that kind of flexibility. It also helps that their best player is on a rookie deal.

all good. only way this deal would get made is if orlando is desperate enough to do so and if the knicks got anderson back in return. the deal you suggested, youre right, does nothing for anyone.
