J Murder shyts on Melo for playing well for a month and a half, but is so completely sold on Lin off of 20 games. Who the fukk do you think is more likely to come back and play better for the majority of the next year, the player who has been playing at a high level for 9 years or the unproven, undrafted Ivy League basketball player?

Basically. But Jmurda is also the same guy who would have taken a bullet for Landry Fields :manny:

We can't know if Lin or Felton will be better next year so I'll go with grunwald . Murder is acting like he can see the future

I never said I was sold on Lin. I said Lin > Felton. Don't mix up my words

What was the Knicks record before Lin started, and after Melo came back during Linsanity?

:manny:

We'll never know

What is your point? Majority of the year Melo was ass. 1.5 months of playing good ball because you didn't like the last coach doesn't make up for that. I give Woodson full credit...Melo doesn't get credit for finally doing what he was supposed to do

I don't like what you're insinuating here.

I always root for the team. That's why I don't defend Melo. He did some good but he also did a lot of bad. He's never going to get credit from me for making it to the playoffs last year. He was one of the major reasons we nearly missed it.

So you deny Melo was inconsistent as fukk for the majority of the season? I've never denied Landry Fields playing like a scrub/bench player.

First off... Melo was hurt for most of the season (and out of shape for that matter) but he was playing through it, before finally sitting out... And they didn't have a legitimate point guard. On top of that, Amare was out of shape as well...

When Lin came in, most of the games were against sub-par competition. Not to take away from Lin, because he played great. But MOST of the competition wasn't that good.

The problem when Melo came back was a combination of
1.) Everybody not being on the same page because previously, Lin had free range to do whatever he wanted, and they were playing completely different before Melo went out
AND
2.)The competition just being better

When D'Antoni left and everyone was healthy... WITH MELO... the Knicks went 6-1

When Amare and Lin both got hurt leaving only Melo and Chandler, the Knicks went 12-4

If you're all about rooting for the team... how come all of your blame for the knick's trouble goes to Melo?

You're a hypocrite.... If you're gonna give him credit for all he does wrong, you have to give him credit when he redeems himself and carries his team to the playoffs.

The I in Team
Depends probably Felton if he gets in shape , Kidd wants to close the games out though

Felton in shape? :mjpls:
According to Felton:
The Knicks Fix: Decision on Lin Sparks Heated Debate
his practice is to come in heavy and use training camp to get to the weight he needs. The reasoning, according to Felton, is he likes to feel strong and the rigors of a regular season cause him to lose too much weight and it makes him feel weaker.

We'll see how woody feels about that when Felton comes to camp :flabbynsick:

I have lower expectations for Landry than you all do (and higher hopes). I expect Melo to make

I didn't say he played like ass cause he sucks, I've stated since before hte season ended that I felt he didn't put in the full effort all year. Yeah, he got hurt and I gave him a pass for the injuries. But he wasn't hurt that bad...come on

Felton's done man. He had a great year with D'Antoni and then got fat. He's never exhibited the ability to play as good as Lin did last year at any other time. What's different now?

Ok but we have just as much reason to believe Felton will perform as that lin will . We all have to take it on faith that they work on there shortcomings

Woodson made it real clear that training camp is not to get your ass in shape. The Knicks brass didn't like it when Felton did it the first time he was here. I'm pretty sure they're going to make that very clear to him.

Like Felton gives 2 and a half fukks :snoop:

maybe for the season (which I already admitted) but not over a three year stretch.

Sorry but I'm not optimistic about this team if Felton & Kidd are running the show til 2015

So Lin Wasnt hurt that bad why not play in the playoffs ?
Melo had wrist groin and knee injuries all year. How can you decide that He wasn't that hurt ? You in his body ? How you know Lin will do good if you think Felton is done ???

I'm not being a hypocrite. I said that he was just as much a reason for us almost missing the playoffs. I never denied he was part of the reason for us making it also. But the real credit goes to Woody for bringing it all together after D'Antoni...not Melo. And none of this was the real point. The point was...if not for Linsanity, Knicks probably don't make the playoffs.

Melo had wrist groin and knee injuries all year. How can you decide that He wasn't that hurt ? You in his body ? How you know Lin will do good if you think Felton is done ???

1) Ask Woody. He cosigned that Lin wasn't ready and he didn't want him out there
2) He rested throughout the groin injury. He didn't play through that. The knee was a problem for three weeks. Melo was off from jump street. I'm not saying he wasn't hurt at all...but to act like he had significant injuries from day 1 is foolishness. And to act like he gave his all when he admitted that he didn't is ignorance. He's a great talent but we needed him to do the things 'toni asked him to. Btw, this isn't solely on him but Amar'e too. I'm harder on Melo cause he's the best player on the team...we can't afford for him to do shyt like that
3) I never claimed to know anything about Lin doing good. My point maintains this: we're gambling on two players who at this point are defined as average. Felton has been average his whole career...he's gonna be average for the rest of his career. Half his NBA life has already gone by...he's not gonna suddenly be this game changer for us over the next 3 seasons. Chances are neither will Lin, but at least with Lin we can mold him (one of the main reasons we got Kidd). We've already seen flashes of him being able to take over a game with his offense AND decision making. I loved Felton when he was here and was rooting for him after we traded him but he's made me second guess him. We know what we're getting....and to me, we'd at the very least get the same from Lin.
