How does that make sense? It's like saying if you didn't love an album the first time then you're forcing it. Some artists put enough thought into their lyrics/performance/messaging that it takes multiple viewings to pick up on it as the first time you're usually just going off the vibe.

I don't know how you watched/listened to that segment and thought their overall grade was mid.
They made it pretty clear that it wasn't the setlist they would've chosen, but Kendrick did good aligning the setlist he did choose and his storytelling.
