He then posts a pic of some comedy club event sponsored by Brandson and said all proceeds went to SA victims.

My issue with is this...I think Elliot Wilson is a petty, weird, out of touch piece of shyt BUT I agree with what he was trying to say. The problem is that in the same breath that he said something I like, he said something stupid. How do you go on a rant about how important interviews are, and then say "btw all interviews since my interview with Drake are irrelevant, fukk all them." But that's always been his problem: he's an arrogant, selfish piece of shyt who doesn't respect anybody.

Should black artists do more black media? YES. Do I think it's asinine when Zane Lowe is the designated interview guy for big artists? YES. Do I think interviews and matter for artists to discuss their work? YES. You can go back and watch a David Bowie or MJ interview from the 70s-80s and get all types of good insight into their creative process and genius for instance. You can also get insight into the word today. I get that major artists don't want to deal with the gossip bullshyt that MOST black media is on today. But that just means you should pick someone who isn't on that tip. Rob Markman, for instance. Angie Martinez isn't black but I'd put her on the list of someone worthy of a major rap interview from Kendrick or Drake; Cole did an amazing interview with her a few years ago. Sway is another good one.

Only thing I disagree with you about is Kai. fukk that c00n, I don't count streamers as music journalists.

I also think there has to be an understanding from artists that journalists and critics aren't gonna like everything you do. Disliking an album is not disrespect. It's not a good thing when people like Budden withhold opinions specifically to secure access to an artist. That's corny shyt and artists have contributed to journalism's decline in this regard. But the flip side of that coin is the lack of professionalism from many journalists has done a lot of harm too. Including Elliot, who talks like a guy who needs to be slapped.

One area I'd give Budden some respect is the way he talked about SZA during that convo. He is clearly not afraid of Punch saying no. Hell he seems to have made peace with knowing he'll likely never speak to her unless she falls the fukk off.

I think he was trying to connect the unpredictable nature of people with CTE with how bears behave.

Flip done or taking a break? Gotta say Emmany makes the pod much better, and it feels like the old days more. Having three people (Joe, Parks, Emmany) who can have intelligent conversations about music just makes shyt flow better. Good way to minimize the bullshyt from everyone else. Ice with the musical IQ of a 12 year old and Ish being completely out of touch with everything smh.

The Rainey segment was aight. Was Mel who was trying to pull the "if it was a baddie" thing. Mostly jokey though for the fellas. All them nikkas got more active and busy go get on the Mel hugs though lol.

I will say it was funny hearing mel trying to defend the mel hugs. From how the fellas explained it, she crosses boundaries with those hugs. She was basically like if someone coming to hug her it sorta gave her free reign to do the mel hugs. That logic is horrible.

Joe was spot on on what Shannon’s interviews have become. Yall just hate the nikka and disagree with everything he says. You can tell Shannon’s team comes up with most of the questions and he don’t know **** about a guest like Saweetie and it comes off as robotic with his style of interviewing. However, if it works, Shannon should continue it.

and yet his interviews are still 100x better than Joes

maybe he should watch and critique his own trash interviews instead of constantly hating on Shannon
