Just saw a clip of them talking about American Gangster. I’ve said it before but that album really is a top 3 Hov album to me. Lil Wayne is the only thing that really fukked it up and blue magic is average. Hov always has that average single on great albums (change clothes, ain’t no nikka, jigga that nikka)
And I haven’t really listened to 4:44 like that anymore the “Hov made a mature album” lost its luster quickly and I do think AG is better lyrically, better songs, and better production

I still love 4:44 to but easily got AG over it. I still run AG back about once a month. It's just such a great overall album that I even have a hard time pulling off individual songs to throw into a Hov playlist. It's in my top 5 with RD, Blueprint, Black Album, and Vol 2.. The top 4 can go in any order with Vol 2 getting dropped for 4:44 or Dynasty depending how I feel.
I have the same 4 not counting Vol 2. I put Vol 3 there. I don’t know about the 5th gotta think on it lol
I think it’s just one of those great albums that get lost in the shuffle in a an artists discography. Especially someone like Hovs who has mega hit records.
