Finally...no one makes this point. The beats sound...not good. And you can tell they've been re-created with live musicians but i it just doesn't work. It's like this weird Justice League imitation that never slaps.

Versus battles have absolutely nothing to do with skills, it’s a popularity contest, bottom line. Nobody in rap has more fans than Tupac, it just is what it is. I understand wanting to argue the fine points, I know I get frustrated as fukk on here when folks try to put Tupac in the same category as a Big, or Jay when it comes to lyricism, or emceeing, when if you looked at it void of bias or emotion, the differences are glaring

Every time Jay and hit records (or sales) get discussed on this forum there's an army of Nas fans who says hits don't matter, conceptual songs/albums are more important etc. If that's your opinion I think you're wrong but fine, whatever. However you cannot maintain that position while simultaneously claiming Nas is gonna beat everyone in a Versuz. Versuz is about hits and bangers...and Jay has 3 times as many hits as Nas and has more bangers. Biggie has more hits, and probably has better bangers. Pac has more hits and more bangers. Nas has far better albums than Pac btw, but 20 hits/bangers is an entirely different discussion and the only person (from that era) who is beating Pac in a battle is maybe Jay. Depending on the crowd.

getting washed doesn't make them less great. the lox dog-walked dipset, and i still think dipset is the more important, impactful group. they just got washed.
i actually agree that pac washes nas. i like nas more personally, but pac's catalogue is tailor made for a versuz. he's got HITS in almost every category.
