That's right up his alley, makes sense. I think part of the reason Joe takes weird ass positions on things like the bodega stabbing is to keep his black card valid. Because whenever it's time to talk money he's always finding ways to beat around the bush of just saying black people are lazy, if you aren't successful it's your fault, if the system is preventing us from advancing then we should be impressed by the system's success, etc etc. If you pressed hard enough I bet you could get Joe to agree with Kanye on the "slavery is a choice" thing.

Giving an ultimatum is manipulative/controlling by nature. Imagine the flip side. You telling somebody if they do or don’t do something you’ll give them some money. It’s the persons way of attempting to sway somebody into doing or not doing what they want. In that situation it’s the fear of getting broken up with. Looking forward to the Conway convo because it exposes something about the show. When you're a friend of the show they will lie for you. These dudes - specifically when it was Joe/Rory/Mal - caped for Griselda for a long time and were constantly talking about how impressive "their movement" was. In reality Griselda been milking the same 5,000 people in America who listen to them. If you can't sell 10k records first week you don't have a movement - you have roommates.
Time to be honest and call it like it is. These guys are 40 plus years old making the most joyless music imaginable. In an era where goon and street rap is huge, nobody is checking for them. And they've put no effort into reaching out to the drill dudes. Benny can't do a record with Fivio? Conway can't do a record with Durk? They've put themselves into a small ass box and now it's basically over for them. They'll never get another record deal.
