but 1) is the bridge really burned if he can still go back to spotify if he chose? and 2) IIRC R&M felt slighted about not seeing the actual books. They were paid pretty well for their spots on JBP....The sucker shyt mal refers to is joe saying he doesnt have to respect his friends, and the very public firing afterwards

Like AK said, he's literally back on Spotify for free. AK doesn't even like R&M and still recognized they were part of the shyt and Joe went about everything the most self-destructive way possible.
They were paid well, but they were entitled to the looking at the books. They were paid off the profits. THey even said if they were overpaid, that's fine but they still wanted to see everything. It got worse once Joe wanted to pop shyt on the podcast and they realized dude was lost.
Mal had an interview with Smoke DZA where he broke most of this shyt down and how Joe acts when people are around. Charlamagne was the first motherfukker who knew Joe would find a way to fukk it all up and that's when Joe was at his peak; had Cyn, Spotify deal, selling out tours. Now he has none of that. Dude does business like Dame.

It’s interesting that AK said he thought Joe was publicly negotiating with the Spotify rant and thought he was going to announce a new deal soon after. Then AK says it’s been a over year and Joe still doesn’t have deal, what’s the gameplan?
He definitely should’ve staying with Spotify because they’re the only company that’s trying to center their business model around podcast
but What hurts Joe most is publicly fukking over R&M

Y'all keep skipping that joe said he asked for too much and it helped out the ppl behind him. he knew his request was nuts, but it wouldn't look crazy if spotify agreed to it. Ak acknowledged that it happened twice, once with complex and once with spotify. quite frankly, that's why AK still does business with joe. he might fukk up his own shyt at will, but ppl coming after him can edge their numbers up and get more (which is exactly what happened in both situations). Even R&M got a bag off their affiliation with the JBP and i'm pretty sure they admitted to being paid handsomely, they just got butthurt over the books

Are you really this dumb to believe Joe's bullshyt? Like Spotify or Complex really had it in their heads "well Joe tried to get some for 100 million so we'll pay the next people 50". These companies have all sorts of metrics and consumer information that goes into what they'll offer as well as ultimately how high they are willing to go and it ain't got shyt to do with no Joe Budden. That's strictly Joe trying to spin some kind of win out of him not reupping with Spotify.

The nicca AK said it out his own gullet!! AK said complex treated Joe differently because he was the big dog. and them losing Joe was very bad for business. AK also said he used Joe's spotify blowup as leverage in his deal. Listen to both parts.
