But they're not even friends like that. Joe hedging his opinions is because contrary to how he sees himself, he likes being adjacent to the "cool kids". Some of this IS certainly trying not to burn bridges but some of it is just ridiculous, particularly when he starts stepping on his co-host's opinions.
