Parks trying to argue Kanye would have been a superstar on Ruwkus is hilarious. Yea he would go platinum but without Jay, the hottest label, carte blanche to perform on late night television...Kanye isn't Kanye, and Kanye sure as hell doesn't get 10 Grammy noms.
His argument was so dumb. He talking about nikkas going platinum (which someone of them didn't, he was gassing some of it), meanwhile, we talking about the biggest artist arguably of the last 40 years.

Exactly. He claimed Talib went plat but actually that first album went gold, with the biggest song of Talib's life. Super impressive for the underground but think about what Get By would have done on a bigger record label that could push the button. To us? Get By was a huge record because it's what we were listening to. I remember seeing the video on MTV/BET a lot. But numbers wise it peaked at 77 on the Billboard 100, and 16 on the rap charts. If Kanye kept that record and dropped it with the exact same bars, it's a smash hit on both charts. A major label is just going to get you more spins. I'm sure Kanye could go plat on Rawkus but does Slow Jamz become the #1 song in the country? Hell no. Do DJs give Jesus Walks heavy spins without Roc/Def Jam dudes calling them? Hell no.

None of this takes away from Kanye's greatness. Just pointing out people can't buy your shyt if they never hear it.

This slaughterhouse shyt is a bone thrown by Royce & Joe. I don’t see how Joe or Royce being mad over this shyt
Ehhh I get where you’re coming from, it crossed my mind too, but I just don’t see how him not saying anything really helps promote the album or song. Him pretending like he’s mad about it but not really saying anything does nothing for them promotion wise. If he really wanted to help them, wouldn’t he do one of his classic rants to help promote it? At least say enough for people to go search what he’s talking about? He was so vague in his segment, unless you’re super tapped in, you might not have a clue what he was talking about. Did he even mention the song by name?

No he didn’t. Ice and Ish were stopping him from going scorched earth.

Joe podcast base is tapped in. So if u didn’t catch who he was talking about. U went looking and found out on Reddit or Twitter. I didn’t even know them dudes made a video until I listened to the pod. Otherwise I would not ever listen/watch a vid from them ever.

that song is bigger in just 2 days than anything Crook has ever put on his YT page.

that’s got to be from JBP fans

It was doing great before Joe's podcast and I haven't seen much traction since Joe's podcast to make me think his commentary (or lack thereof) moved the needle. It's not like it's been an uptick in discussion. Most of the discussion around it happened day of. Joe was too vague that it didn't even really create a stir. It was more people upset he didn't say anything.

I think the attention is just because like I said in the other thread, people just like beef/drama. Even if it's random people they don't know. I don't think anyone cares about Slaughterhouse outside of a very niche group, but anything that has tension usually does well.

Real hard to listen to a lot of serious topics on the podcast because each dude is so invested in pretending to not care, not be emotional, saying “I agree with you” even after someone said the exact opposite of what they said etc.

Tired of the smoke and mirrors, say what you mean. I’m talking about the Slaughterhouse convo.
