If you’re 32 then you were in high school when A Millie hit

those songs are about equal to me

PSA is the one jay z song that still gets put in a DJ set these days

Yeap, but by high school I was already musically savvy

I feel like most people in their early 30’s now, were.

The black album was the first CD I ever purchased from circuit city. I remember getting shyt from the cashier because of the parental advisers sticker. I literally had to get a hand written note from my mom stating that I had permission.

I was outside… so by Wayne’s run (which I was fully IN on btw) I already had my favorites

I get that for some of y’all Wayne’s run was really your introduction to hip hop like that. I was already listening to Wayne during the 500 degrees era.

A Millie definitely kills PSA in a battle to most people outside New York though. Would I give the point to PSA. Hell yea. But Wayne wins that in an online viewing room full of 20-something and 30-something year olds on social media.

Probably a regional thing. In my city Lil Wayne is damn near the sound track to being outside for the first time for a lot of people in my generation. Jay Z much less so. Tbh, NY rap rarely hits hard over here

By the time Wayne REALLY took off Jay dropped American Gangster which was FAR better than Carter 3 and Jay left that nikka on Mr Carter as well.

People seems to forget that versuz is supposed to be a generational thing. You don't put two artist who are not from the same era or else it would get awkward like the fat Joe ja rule one.
Wayne/kanye/drake got no business doing a versuz against Jay
Fab did one with Kiss. And The Lox was poppin a good 4 to 5 years before him. Wayne dropped his first solo like 4 years after Jay’s.

The fab Jada one was awkward to me as well. Wayne prime was like a good 6 7 years after Jay's. That would be like making a versuz between Redman and Eminem. Eminem dropped his first solo in 96. Redman in 92 but that's two different era

Fab and Jada was awkward because Fab’s DJ was trash. Eminem ain’t get hot until 99-00. His first solo was widely unknown. Wayne was already featured on hit singles before his solo dropped.
