Nikka the pod quietly went back on Spotify :russ:. Shi*t is like them nikkas kicking game at the corner yet they don’t follow their own advice. What a train wreck
worst part is Joe and Parks acting all "yea we're back on Spotify because we want to be...duh, so what????"

man GTFOH after aaaaaaaalllllllllllllllll the shyt you popped just under 15 months ago, you can't just gloss over that like it's not worth mentioning.

you boycotted uploading your podcast to Spotify for all this time, while trashing them along the way like a victim who applies his trauma to every life situation..........for nothing.

it's clown-ish and reeks of a lack of accountability and credibility. not surprised at this point though.

He's just against that, man.

Even Rory and Mal are already running ads. But Joe don't like that shyt

honestly don't know why he's so against them.

the "break up the flow" excuse is non-sense, because he can have them at the beginning and end, like thounsands of podcasts do.

then he could even leverage the ad-free version of the podcast as a paid option like thousands of podcasts do.

shyt some of the podcast ads enticed me to try the product they're shilling. got this pretty dope christmas gift for my parents from a podcast ad

Nah he was right to not sign with them then. Remember Spotify would of got a cut of the hbo money Savon is getting now. He was looking out for his people.

Good, it's about time he stop acting like the Jeff bezos of podcasting and started making smarter business decisions. Now if he can just get some sponsors to run ads he can start generating real money and stop bytching about patreon subscribers not paying enough.

So thats why they've been trying to start the podcasts off with no cursing to submit that 15 mins to potential sponsors for ads :patrice:

Great convo about male R&B music.

Too many wave-riding musical cowards. It's all about the bag now and the art suffers.

This isn’t fair

there’s plenty of good male R&B out there. The art isn’t suffering at all

they were speaking on mainstream male R&B

Na that’s a general YouTube thing now. All types of podcasts and vloggers are trying to avoid cursing in the first several minutes to prevent the video from being demonetized or hidden by YouTube for the “foul” content.

Even YouTube, who many used to say was the only place you could be free as a creator, is controlling and monitoring the shyt a lot more closely now.

It's the truth. And it's a very fair critique. Saying the art has suffered doesn't mean no good male R&B artist exist. It can be more though, and in relation to the women R&B singers, it is no comparison. This was an overall discussion not simply mainstream even though mainstream examples were given.

Whenever you have a slew of artist only making art to get the bag, it's common sense that the art will suffer. People are programed to do what is successful and not stay faithful to the art.

People allow it because they understand it, but that understanding perpetuates the decline in quality because the person with the most money takes control of what is made. What get's the most attention controls what is made.

This is the social media era. Digital puppet strings everywhere.
