He saying the artist aren’t getting a big cut. People listened to lil uzi vert for 109.7 million minutes on SPOTIFY. He probably got a check from Spotify for like $20k.
artists are posting their accolades from Spotify meanwhile they’re getting paid crumbs from it.
We don’t know what they’re getting from it nor should we care.

People complain about streaming...but try to think back to before the streaming services...when the fear was the music industry was completely over because all the music went straight to the internet and everyone just grabbed it for free. The fact you still can get it for free but they found a way to make that corny and to instead have you stream it for a little bit of money is genius. And, artists having these huge streaming numbers is part of the marketing rollout now...people see those insane numbers and want to buy your shyt too...whether the numbers are fugazi or not
