I haven't peeped yet...but they all liked KD2 when it dropped. They hating on it for the Grammy?

No. Joe said he had Donda as AOTY and that the category was good. He did say Drake is the only one that probably shouldnt win because his project wasnt on par with the other ones in the category.

it’s so pointless to talk about award nominations these days. It’s always been pretty pointless but the last couple of years these awards have made it pretty apparent that this is a made for TV event and they’re only awarding people that show up to the event and can accept the award in person

Ah thanks for the clarification. Not gonna hate on anyone who has a favorite album, especially people who actually listened to all or most of the nominees. Personally I think Donda is a fukking mess and the worst album nominated by far.

CLB at least has some fun moments and has some high highs. More importantly, CLB is not a "bad" album. Donda is closer to bad than good IMO and is too bloated to truly take seriously.

For people always asking for pod suggestions. "At The End Of The Day" on No Jumper is really good.

That J. Cole album is by far the best album in that Grammy Category. But it's the Grammy's so we know quality doesn't really matter.

This is how I have them graded. I swear Kanye be making interlude music now. Someone has to stop him.

J. Cole:
The Off-Season: 87.50%

Nas:
King's Disease II: 80.00%

Drake:
Certified Lover Boy: 75.60%

Tyler, the Creator:
Call Me If You Get Lost: 75.00%

Kanye West:
Donda: 73.50%

Do Nas albums get mentioned in these conversations outside of core Nas fans? I'm just curious, I genuinely don't know. I know KD1 was getting talked about by everyone but idk about KD2.

I know what I see on this forum...but this a skewed view on Nas because this whole shyt is basically just a Nas forum, lol.

Honestly probably not as much but thats expected because of his age and core fanbase age. I know me and my friends mention this album alot (its my AOTY so far with Tyler and Skyzoo right there)

No. And I am a Nas fan and have been since my early 2003 music awakening.

In the general scope he doesn't matter, I'm sure people in their late 30s and 40s still go back to the music of their era, Nas, Roots, Fugees, Lauryn Hill, etc. but getting zero play with people in their mid 20s and younger.

But we always have thecoli, lol

That's really cool but I think it's rare, unless Nas is part of their parents rotation. I'm cool with a lot of my parents music but the time period before and the time period between my parents music and music of my own era, I have to fill in those gaps myself. I'm very fortunate to like Kazaa as a early teen, so search for golden era hip hop in 2003-2005 wasn't THAT much of a stretch.
