No, Trump can be racist all on his own, he doesn't need Joe Biden for that. But what was Biden's response to Trump calling him a Palestinian as a slur? Did he reject the premise entirely? Or did he pull a John McCain?


It's telling your causal chain starts on October 7th. Mahmoud Khalil is a Palestinian born in Syria in 1995 because his parents were refugees from Palestine. You think this all started on October 7th to him? You want him to ignore his own family story and the genocide being perpetrated against his people because it's inconvenient to the Democratic Party who refuses to even consider him a full human being. It's a complete joke.


I think he can keep his head high that he defended the rights and dignity of his people as they were being exterminated with the express approval and support of the American President.

1) don’t remember his response but I’m sure it was tepid or he ignored it. To be frank I don’t think he had the mental agility to pull a John McCain in that situation because Trump’s racism was so unexpected in the debate setting.

2) I don’t think the entire conflict between Jews and Palestinians started on October 7th but this immediate genocide was kicked off by Hamas. Palestinians in Gaza have started to protest Hamas, I guess it’s now okay to assign blame to them.

3) not only the American president but the entire American government. There was nothing Biden could do in an election season even if he was willing to sacrifice everything at the altar of Palestinian liberation. His own party and of course the Republicans would override any of his vetos.

I’ll always fault the Biden administration for not coming out and being forceful that there would be no path forward with Hamas running Gaza. Just rip the bandaid off

In his letter from ICE Detention Mahmoud Khalil himself identifies the role that the anti-Palestinian racism of the Biden Administration played in creating the conditions for the Trump administration's actions.

You and the other pro-genocide posters in here seem to believe the activists and students being illegally detained and harassed by the Trump Administration are now regretful of their participation in the protests against the Gaza genocide, but I haven't seen any indication of that whatsoever. But it's easy to see how you come to that conclusion when you have no principles beyond your personal comfort that you consider worth risking life and liberty for.

The Oscar-winning Palestinian film director Hamdan Ballal has said that Israeli settlers who attacked him were aided by two Israeli soldiers who beat him with the butt of their rifles outside his home and threatened to kill him.

In an interview with the Guardian, Ballal, one of the four directors of the film No Other Land, which documented the destruction of villages in the West Bank and won best documentary at this year’s Academy Awards, recounted how on Monday two Israeli soldiers first encircled him while a settler was assaulting him, before violently striking him on the head and threatening to shoot him.

It all started around 6pm on Monday,” said Ballal, who was released on Tuesday after Israeli forces detained him in a police station in the West Bank. “We had finished our daily Ramadan fast in Susya in the Masafer Yatta area, south of Hebron, when someone called me to say that settlers had entered our village.”

Some of the settlers were armed with batons, others had knives and one of them was holding an M16 rifle, witnesses told the Guardian. Among them were a group of Israeli soldiers who escorted the settlers inside the village where Ballal lives.

“Because I work for a human rights organisation called Haqel: in Defense of Human Rights, and because I’m also a photographer, I went there to document what was happening,” he said. “I took three or four photos, and then I realised that the situation was deteriorating. There were dozens of settlers, and they were becoming increasingly aggressive.”

Masked settlers with sticks started attacking Palestinian residents, including a group of Jewish activists, smashing their car windows and slashing tyres, according to Josh Kimelman, an activist with the Center for Jewish Nonviolence (CJNV). Video provided by the group showed a masked settler shoving and swinging his fists at two activists in a dusty field at night.

“In that precise moment, I thought about my family, who were at home,” Balla said. ‘‘I ran to them and told my wife, ‘Lock the house and keep the children inside.’ They could have attacked me, but by doing so they wouldn’t have harmed my family.’’

One settler, escorted by two Israeli soldiers, walked straight over to Ballal’s house. Soldiers started shooting in the air to prevent anyone from supporting Ballal, who was shouting for help.

“The soldiers pointed their rifles at me while the settler from behind began beating me,” Ballal said. “They threw me to the ground, and the settler started hitting me on the head. Then a soldier also began beating me; with the butt of his rifle, he struck me on the head. After that, he fired his weapon in the air. I don’t understand Hebrew, but I gathered that he said the next rifle shot would hit me. In that moment, I thought I was going to die.”

I saw Biden disgracefully malign 60 year old university professors as anti-semitic criminals as they were having their heads smashing into concrete and arrested by police for peacefully protesting alongside these international students, so it's not hard for me to see how we're here.

What's also true: a President Kamala Harris would not be having DHS ICE agents on the streets kidnapping students. Her Secretary of State wouldn't be revoking visas.

Hasan has principles unlike some you champion like BTC. I don't particularly agree with him on kamala though
