During the presidential debate on Thursday in Atlanta, former President Donald J. Trump raised eyebrows by using the word “Palestinian” as an insult to President Biden.

Accusing Mr. Biden of not wanting Israel to “finish the job” in Gaza, Mr. Trump said: “He’s become like a Palestinian. But they don’t like him because he’s a very bad Palestinian. He’s a weak one.”

“The fact that he called President Biden a Palestinian, a bad Palestinian, was an insult to me,” Mosab Abu Toha, a poet from Gaza, wrote on social media.

Mr. Abu Toha, whose work has appeared in The New Yorker and whose book “Things You May Find Hidden in My Ear” was a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award in 2022, fled with his family to Egypt last year after a fraught struggle to leave Gaza. He posted on Friday that they had arrived in the United States.

“I woke up today still feeling the insult from yesterday’s ‘debate.’” Mr. Abu Toha wrote. “The racism and warmongering make my flesh creep.”

While the military has helped deliver desperately needed food through the pier, the vast majority of it is still sitting in the adjacent storage yard and that area is almost full. Aid agencies have had difficulty moving the food to areas further into Gaza where it is most needed because the humanitarian convoys have come under attack.

Arabs been blaming Israel for their own bullshyt for too long. The problem (oddly enough) isn't actually Islam although it is a contributing factor via extremists' interpretation.

The problem is Arab tribalism in the Peninsula preventing progress in pursuit of revenge for the failure of 1948, aka, 'Nakba'.

This does not completely absolve Israel of any wrongdoing since then, but the fact that Singapore faced even worse issues and succeeded shows where the issues truly lie.​

Fairly. Especially since one of the go-to Zionists canards is that dull line "Gaza could have been Singapore if not for Hamas!", the point of which is to trojan horse in the notion that Arabs are incapable of self-governance so perpetual Israeli domination is so sadly, unfortunately the best of bad options.

But can you point to the situation that Singapore found itself during-and-post-independence as it relates to self-governance that is analogous to being actively genocided by a vicious colonial oppressor with the complicity of the world's dominant superpower? LKY did a fantastic job taking Singapore from a state of economic immiseration and demographic tension to what it is today, but you cannot be serious with that comparison. Even at the height of the tensions with Malaysia and Indonesia, Singapore was never under the direct occupation of either. The ethnic Malay ruling class in Malaysia never enacted the kind of brutalities we see Israelis putting Palestinians through. Sukarno's fukkery in Singapore during Konfrontasi was never a structural impediment to the literal self-rule of Singapore the way Israel's literal control of Palestinian borders and resources is.

That wouldn't be an historically accurate argument, nor my argument, as Hamas didn't exist when Singapore gained independence. Nor was there any attempt on my part to make the situations analogous as the colonization of Singapore is not analogous to Gaza being occupied due to losing a war.
