The illogical yet undeniable fact is that Hamas' atrocities will seem worse to the average person than Israel's atrocities for the following reason:

It seems worse to kill innocent people who you come into direct contact with and then kill in cruel and barbaric ways than to kill innocent people who you never see using high tech weapons. Even though the end result is the same, the former seems more savage and chilling and will provoke stronger condemnation.
