nah it's simple. vote locally. You can actually hold those politicians more accountable and it DIRECTLY affects you. if you mobilize right, you can really get some shyt done. his stance on not voting nationally was to make either candidate come out and directly say they'll support black initiatives. Obviously that didnt happen (and would be hard to make happen on a national level)
i can't say I agree with it but I'm a firm believer in that a politician should have to earn your vote.
The people I talk to on the ground about this in real life say
'Fukc voting'
They don't have any diagrams that show which voting is OK and which is not. They have an overall approach that excludes all.
If they would, instead, vote in every election period, then the result would be way better. Even if you feel a vote for prez is wasted, so what? It's free and usually very fast.
So Tariq has only succeeded in popularizing 'don't vote'. The people I am trying to reach missed all the rest.
Meanwhile, the Internet is gonna die, everyone's taxes are up and they haven't even finished the first quarter. So Tariq is wrong about not voting in that sense as well
