That first row of women :takedat:

Dont know why they always ask about defenders, watching it you could tell netflix/marvel had no master plan and had just cobbled this story sometime during iron fist. It was a missed opportunity and a clear indicator these shows arent building to anything significant

Every teaser from Season 2 looks just as mediocre as what we got in Season 1.
I am completely baffled why so many sites are hyping this upcoming season of this show up...what are they seeing that I'm not?
:mjpls:Barely a couple of days after LC was released it was already "luke cage is old news, prepare for the iron fist", ok

LC s2 is arguably one of the better seasons of all the netflix/marvel joints but the biggest takeaway to some is "how much better iron fist seemed"?. Now with a mere teaser that shows nothin and does little to excite detractors everyone is mouth watering :mindblown:

Between Cage season 2 and the image of him training there does seem to be an acknowledgement of what works for this actor. Doesn’t mean they can cobble together a whole season of interesting material but it’s a pleasant tease.

i think they don't want to pay.. it's not just the fight choreographer, which is also a fee for bigger guys.. you also need to pay for the training and setups they'll come up with

it's cool to train the matrix actors for 8 hours a day, 12 months in advance, for a 3 month shoot with a top of the line fight guy... but that shyt costs money every step of the way

getting the BP guy on a discount from marvel, and doing stunts simple enough that the actors can follow, cuts down on costs. lord knows the talent is still there. they could easily get some of the guys making films now.. guys from the raid, ip man, matrix, current kung fu, old kung fu, etc etc

This. Though I think they're also being cheap about it. According to multiple websites. the most a stunt coordinator makes is; roughly $2700 (one hour) - $3000 (two hours) How Much Money Does a Stuntman Make Per Year?

Lets assume they only need one guy for Rand, since he's so garbo. 10 eps, 10 hours = Ignoring the whole two hour thing and going for a flat rate; thats $27,000 just for one person. Obviously they're not going for the Jackie Chan Stunt team, but even with a second stunt guy, we're talking about, 54k. The entire series's is costing 200 million (Marvel’s Netflix bound TV shows to cost a whopping $200 million). They have the cash, especially since they film on one location anyway and at night (mostly). Just seems like the show runner wants to make it a melodrama more than an action...which makes sense when you look at the writers.

nah my man...

ok so main actor dude is trash at karate and the man coordinator sucks too... you gonna have to hire a new coordinator before anything.. you don't want a great team and a shytty coach. you want bill belichek. and you gonna have to pay him, fly him to where you are, put him up, feed him, all that... cause he's top of the line and that's what he demands. but he's not the guy actually training them in martial arts... no he's just the guy inventing the action... another guy has to do the training... and you'll need to fly him out, etc etc etc...... then you need to pay all the actors to train with him... training wasn't in the contract and it's time working, therefore they will need to be paid... so now you gotta pay to fly them to training, etc etc etc.... that's gonna be Rand and his double

and that's just bare minimum... all you have is a guy to coordinate the fights, a guy to train the actors and two actors in training. you looking at a couple hundred thousand in room, board, training, time, and per diem... and we haven't even got to the having the proper sets, cameras, and fight film team, to shoot and edit the action...

trust me... they ain't paying that shyt.. not for the ratings and numbers on this little show

Thats where they fukked up, they didn't take the martial arts as seriously as the people who did Daredevil did...and here I was thinking Iron Fist (which is basically Marvel's Dragonball Z) was going to be 10x better than Daredevil.....How do you fukk up only one aspect the audience would care about? They could've taken so many liberties with the entire story, so long as my man was moving around like Aang from Avatar, we all would've been like "Didn't know his power came from a lamp, but he kicks the most ass".

Instead we got Stagnant Fist. With the forte of blowing up doors. I'm glad for the Defenders they treated him like Orihime from Bleach...best decision I've seen them do with Danny.
