Upgraded to iOS 11 last night...it only took til 2017 but I can finally view animated gifs on this phone

Also, side by side viewing of apps is eliminated? I used that shyt every day on my 12.5 inch ipad pro.

Prior to this update, animated gifs wouldn't animate in photos app/native apps.
They'd animate in the browser, and after I sent a message, but not before.
That’s crazy. I have never experienced that on an iPhone. Only Android.

That's a blatant lie. Animated gifs worked on Android for years. They were certainly working before I switched to an iPhone in January 2016
Animated gifs would NOT animate in iMessage/photos until you sent it. So if you had two similar gifs stored on your phone, you had to hope you chose he right one.
