Brehs, What are the best iOS & Android apps to control laptop HTPC/Plex?!

I'm trying to help my sister out to setup her laptop as a HTPC, using this video from CNET:

I was thinking of putting XBMC on her laptop because of how many more apps & options are on it over Plex, but my sister is not tech-savvy & Plex is WAY easier to use. My sister doesn't wanna buy a dedicated media/streaming box like a AppleTV or Roku when she already has laptop that she barely uses since she bought a iPad. And she definitely ain't gonna want to buy a dedicated remote/mini-keyboard like in that CNET video to control her laptop HTPC, when she can just use an app on her iPad, iPhone or Android Phone.

What apps y'all recommend?

For Plex I believe you can simply use the Plex app on whichever device to control what she wants to play on her laptop/TV. I'll double check in a second and edit this post.

Edit: You can.

Yea just make sure it has a hdmi out and should be good

it has HDMI out on it brehbreh. So, I don't need to add anything else to it ? No video card? No processor ? I feel like it may be too slow. Way too slow, but if it can run games though, XBMC should be easy right ? :manny:

I havent looked at the specs but it says its a gaming pc so it shouldn't have any problems running xbmc and streaming movies

yeah, but what I am worried about is the quality of the graphics and the lag issue. I want it that fast brehbreh. Please, check the specs and give me feedback whenever you can
