ok im gonna pm you later when I get off work
i bought a key off him last night and it was good. i had a cracked version of 7 installed and just did a clean wipe and put Windows 8 over it and it runs just fine. now i gotta figure out how to get Microsoft to give me a Windows Media Center key from the other two Windows 8 keys i bought from them direct.

i think if you but a key off Microsoft now its at least $100 if not closer to $200 of $20 is a steal for a key. guy last night wanted to charge me $130 for a retail copy. i'm glad i decided to pass.

Any word on when these hard drive prices are supposed to drop? I'm down to 400 GB and I've got two empty bays I wanna fill up with 3 TB drives. I'm not trying to spend $140 on each though.

For 3tb drives the cheapest I could find was $130 from microcenter but its in store pick up only

Getting this hdhomerun prime setup has been a huge pain in the ass

After 2 tech visits from comcast and trying about 10 different cable cards they finally hooked it up but now my main hddvr not working :snoop:

The prime is working fine on my laptop and 360 but whenever I try it on the htpc I get a message about hdcp required...after googling they say its a handshake problem

I have to either try a different tv (will be here tuesday), different graphics card (cant fit one in the htpc but they say intel graphics 4000 is hdpc compatible) or connect via vga instead of hdmi (have to order one)

Comcast coming to replace my hd dvr monday so hopefully by Wednesday I'll have everything running 100%

I'm a cable tech and I cringe every time I see an install with a cable card and a tuning adaptor. I wanna get a homerun prime but even for me installing it and pairing it with the cable card and tuning adaptor will be a pain in the ass.

Could have sworn VGA cables are not HDCP compliant. Have you installed the Intel HD4000 drivers?

OpenELEC, anyone running this?

I use it on 2 machines.

Easiest way to have any machine boot directly into XBMC if that's all you're planning on using the hardware for, imo.

Some add-ons may not be compatible but never caused me issue thus far.

Its really not that hard now that I've seen the process

All you need to pair the cable card with the prime is the cable card serial #, and the host id and data # from the prime

My problem was all the damn cable cards the techs had didnt work and then when they finally got one to work they didnt know how to find the host id & datat # :beli:

I basically did everything myself really, the tech was clueless as fukk and didnt even know how to use the internet

If you get one just pm me and I'll walk you thru the steps
