Insignificant posting from an insignificant poster
Came across this tune at a house party...

Bassline and melody on fukkin' point.

The message really hit my soul too..

Societal expectations and domestic pressures starting to weight a ton....

Tell me this doesn't speak to a lot of you. This is why i confide to the music so much.

House 'til i die.

@YBG613 Yo man, what exactly is Amapiano? Is it a style of house? Is it a movement? What exactly?

I know in a lot of Amapiano songs there are very similar effects used across many tracks.

From a couple of weeks ago.

@Grizzly

You know bout DJ Ameer?

Ameer is the truth....when I saw him play for the first time i was thoroughly impressed...he can hold his own with the veterans and he's been killing it in Jersey so it's good to see him getting that out of state love

i think he was only 17 in this video

I completely missed your original post. Im only noticing it now. "Amapiano" is a sub-genre of House music. Its basically Afro soul sound mixed with lots of piano melodies, hence House heads in SA started calling it AmaPiano. I hope that makes sense.

EDIT: found an article with one of the pioneers of the sound. he explains it perfectly together with its origins: “THE PEOPLE NAMED IT AS AMAPIANO” MFR SOULS ON CUE, EXCLUSIVE MIX | Cue Mag

Thanks for this man. Also, are you from SA? And do you currently live there (SA)?
