There was absolutely NO way Taylor Swift was going to lose AOTY. Even if Taylor and Dua split the Pop votes then Country voters and probably Folk/Americana voters were going to rally behind Taylor. Folklore was THE most critically acclaimed album of her career, was the highest selling album of the year, AND on top of that she dropped ANOTHER ALBUM right when Grammy voting started, so she owned the narrative.

Taylor’s coronation was a forgone conclusion
is it that good?

That's why I was like :gucci: when she came out with Evermore because she probably gave the Academy more of a reason to vote for her. I was hoping it wouldn't be enough, but taking what you said into account, Evermore was the finishing blow.

But you know what you just made me realize? Evermore is eligible for next year's ceremony, so that gives her the chance to be the only person to win AOTY four times. What kind of Tom Brady shyt is that? :scust:

Lol you right but I have a feeling we won’t be seeing much of Taylor dominating at the Grammys anymore. Billie Eilish is the new “it” white girl and Adele is supposed to be coming back so i’m expecting her to be The academy’s white princess this year.

I think this is Taylor’s Grammy swan song

Thought savage would win Roty especially with all the critical acclaim it got, remember it being the most critically acclaimed song of 2020.

But then again critical acclaim is like the last thing the grammy care about.

You make a great point. The only people that can knock off Taylor from now on are those that have already proven themselves, and the Academy loves Billie and Adele. Dua is Patrick Mahomes compared to them. :russ:

I’m not surprised
Hip hop records rarely win Record of the Year even when they’re biggest hits of all nominees

The only rap song to EVER win Record Of The Year is This Is America. Savage had support as evidenced by its Genre wins but not the type of universal impact that This Is America did.
