@hustlemania @THE RETIRED SKJ can we get a sticky since the ceremony is tomorrow?

With all due respect brother Ziggly

NO....

Ive always boycotted the Grammys..

It never respected Hip hop

Even during our Glory Golden Era during the 80s they refused to broadcast the Hip hop categories...

Cause they didnt see us as a musical genre..

LA Times speaks on the legacies of K.Dot and Jay-Z

Both men have sold millions of albums. Both have headlined the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. And both made former president Barack Obama's list of his favorite songs from 2017 — an especially meaningful achievement, perhaps, for two African American artists eager to share their political views (not to mention their scorn for the guy who now holds Obama's old job).

So in a year when hip-hop might finally rule the Grammy Awards, it makes sense that Jay-Z and Kendrick Lamar would be the rap kings closest to victory come Sunday night.

I see everybody's excited White daddy threw you'all a bone with this year's Grammy Awards. You can bet it will be #GrammiessoWhite for the next twenty years. Why the fcuk should any Black person care about the damn Grammies?
:francis::francis::francis:
It's quite pathetic when you think about it. The white acceptance awards. The same award show that historically shyt on hip hop and black music in general. The same award show that rewarded Mackemore over Good Kidd MADD city. It's going to take some years for me not to side eyed the fukking Grammys.

@BarNone per the usual, I'll post who I think will win vs. who I want to win

ALBUM OF THE YEAR

Jay-Z- 4:44
Kendikk Lamar- Damn. (who I want to win)
Childish Gambino- Awaken My Love
Lorde- Melodrama
Bruno Mars- 24K Magic (who I expect to win, but honestly, as long as it ain't Lorde, I can't argue against the rest of this field)

RECORD OF THE YEAR

Childish Gambino- Redbone
Jay-Z- The Story Of OJ
Kendrick Lamar- Humble
Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee Featuring Justin Beiber- Despacito
Bruno Mars- 24K Magic (both. Had it been Kendrick Lamar- DNA, I woulda picked Kendrick)

SONG OF THE YEAR

Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee Featuring Justin Beiber- Despacito
Jay-Z- 4:44 (who I want to win. Despacito was huge, but I never could understand WHY that song was as massive as it was)
Logic featuring Khalid and Alysa Cara- 1-800-273-8255 (who I expect to win, and have a long ass speech about suicide)
Thats What I Like- Bruno Mars
Julia Michaels- Issues

BEST NEW ARTIST

Lil Uzi Vert
Khalid (who I expect to win)
Alyssa Cara
SZA (who I want to win. Admittedly I've seen better years than this one)
Julia Michaels

RAP ALBUM OF THE YEAR

Jay-Z- 4:44 (who I expect to win)
Kendrick Lamar- Damn. (who I want to win)
Rhapsody- Laila's Wisdom
Migos- Culture
Tyler The Creator- Flower Boy

BEST RAP SONG

Cardi- B- Bodak Yellow
Kendrick Lamar- Humble (both. But If Cardi wins the BX is throwing a parade)
Danger Mouse Featuring RTJ- Chase Me
Sassy- Rhapsody
Jay-Z- The Story Of OJ

BEST RAP PERFORMANCE

Big Sean- Bounce Back
Kendrick Lamar- Humble (both, BARELY over Bounce Back.)
Kodak Yellow- Cardi B
Migos- Bad And Boujee
Jay-Z- 4:44

BEST RAP/SUNG PERFORMANCE

6LACK- PRBLMS
Goldlink Featuring Shy Glizzy
Jay-Z Featuring Beyonce- Family Feud (who I expect to win)
Kendrick Lamar Featuring Rihanna- Loyalty
SZA Featuring Travis Scott- Love Galore (who I want to win)

I think Bruno Mars is gonna win Best R&B Performance and Best R&B Album Childish Gambino wins for Best Traditional R&B Performance and Best R&B Song and Best Urban Contemporary Album

I'd love to see No I.D. win Producer Of The Year but I could see Calvin Harris taking that though and Kendrick Lamar wins best Music Video.

I can't believe you got me back in here. I see it like this, I still don't know what the Grammys are. But I'll give who I want to win as well @tremont

ALBUM OF THE YEAR

Jay-Z- 4:44 (I think it's obvious and I've said this time and again, when Sinatra hadn't won the Grammys fixed it. Same with many other acts. If you look at every genre, the first winner of the award from the genre is arguably the greatest act. I think from a historical perspective, Jay Z fits better to that than Kendrick. As would Nas, Ice Cube, etc. ANd the album is great. THat's my tiebreaker. And people tlak about K. Dot's last albums not winning, how about the Blueprint, The Black Album and American Gangster not being nominated at all? Same with WTT. This is the last of the 90s guys who could possibly win this, and I think it's right and it's in New York).
Kendikk Lamar- Damn. (The machine behind him is insane. Like I've never seen a slanderproof rapper before and last time he got "robbed" the Grammys awarded him the next year for "i" which didn't deserve to win anything. It's his award. That said, it's a good project)
Childish Gambino- Awaken My Love
Lorde- Melodrama
Bruno Mars- 24K Magic

RECORD OF THE YEAR

Childish Gambino- Redbone (Why was I writing in red? ANyhow, I think this is the best sone in the category and would like Gambino to win)
Jay-Z- The Story Of OJ
Kendrick Lamar- Humble
Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee Featuring Justin Beiber- Despacito (First spanish-language song here + beiber = win)
Bruno Mars- 24K Magic

SONG OF THE YEAR

Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee Featuring Justin Beiber- Despacito
Jay-Z- 4:44 (who I want to win. Despacito was huge, but I never could understand WHY that song was as massive as it was) (agreed)
Logic featuring Khalid and Alysa Cara- 1-800-273-8255 (who I expect to win, and have a long ass speech about suicide) (2x)
Thats What I Like- Bruno Mars
Julia Michaels- Issues

BEST NEW ARTIST

Lil Uzi Vert
Khalid
Alyssa Cara
SZA (who I want to win. Admittedly I've seen better years than this one)
Julia Michaels (I have never heard of this girl and she's nominated. She's probably going to win. Someone white has to win at some point tonight and she's the only one on here also nominated in another category)

RAP ALBUM OF THE YEAR

Jay-Z- 4:44 (I want Hov to win, but I don't see it)
Kendrick Lamar- Damn. (It's his award to lose)
Rhapsody- Laila's Wisdom
Migos- Culture
Tyler The Creator- Flower Boy

BEST RAP SONG

Cardi- B- Bodak Yellow
Kendrick Lamar- Humble (K. Dot will win)
Danger Mouse Featuring RTJ- Chase Me (I want this to win for the fukkery because I have never heard this shyt)
Sassy- Rhapsody
Jay-Z- The Story Of OJ

BEST RAP PERFORMANCE

Big Sean- Bounce Back
Kendrick Lamar- Humble (He will win)
Kodak Yellow- Cardi B
Migos- Bad And Boujee (I think these guys should win)
Jay-Z- 4:44

BEST RAP/SUNG PERFORMANCE

6LACK- PRBLMS
Goldlink Featuring Shy Glizzy
Jay-Z Featuring Beyonce- Family Feud (who I expect to win) (also who I want to win)
Kendrick Lamar Featuring Rihanna- Loyalty
SZA Featuring Travis Scott- Love Galore
